  4. There is lots to see, and I dig how remote it is. The Fresno Divide, Dome and Flatirons are all worthwhile. It's fun and fast. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  5. https://goo.gl/maps/km4NXGRcjir https://www.mtbproject.com/directory/8007104/lake-ouachita I've ridden the Womble end-to-end but did not ride the Ouachita Trail extension at the north end of the Womble. Never made it over to the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail either that runs along the south side of the lake. Mt. Ida seems to be the best central location for accessing all of the trails, but I like staying at the Hwy 27 Fishing Village (cabins, RV/Tent sites) that is just north of Mt. Ida on the west end of the lake. It sits virtually right on the middle junction of the Womble which makes it a great spot for out-and-backs in either direction or shuttled rides starting at either end. In addition to the stores and restaurants in Mt. Ida, there is a small store / restaurant a couple of miles north of Hwy 27 Fishing Village that serves up some great food. You can also get some provisions at the camp store at Hwy 27 Fishing Village. This is a DRY COUNTY! Pack in whatever alcoholic beverages you may want to consume.

  6. I've seen these trails mentioned numerous places and I know where the Cat Mountain area itself is, but it seems to never be mentioned how to access these trails proper. Is this intentionally being kept a secret (a la DM's only)? I'm familiar with the Bull Creek trails, Thumper (it's been awhile) and some others in the area. Anyone want to help a brother out with some details? I'm looking for some new trails to mix up my weekly ride. Thanks, Scott

  8. Yeah, even if you don't join, there is a waiver you have to sign because it is private land and the owner (who is a rider) doesn't want the liability. It's a smart move on his part because of the nature of the trails. Loads of jumps and freeride type of things to do there.

  9. The cat mountain trails have been built and maintained by free ride 512 and i think they want you to be a member (I think it’s in the realm of $50 a year) to ride out there to cover their insurance. If you want more info or a tour contact Seth Buckner ( sethpools on this site), he I believe is their trail steward for cat mountain

  10. This isn't going to help much, but I was on a strong ramp-up to some quality fitness when I jacked up my back about 3 weeks ago. My original plan was to compete in the Bentonville Race this coming weekend and then parlay that into the EB....which would then set me up for the DS. Now...I've barely ridden in 2.5 weeks and I'm not even sure I can be healthy enough to ride any amounts of distance at Bentonville this weekend. Suffice to say my plans are shot to hell. But to answer your underlying question....Theres not much I can do about it (weather or my back ailment), but to make the best of the situations. Given these conditions, I'd be out riding my gravel bike in the rain if necessary. Or with the sporadic weather, I'd be trying to hit some hills during a window (1-2 hrs) of reprieve from the rain. Worst case, I'd be trying to ride a trainer indoors (but I don't even own one). Overall, if I can't build any appreciable fitness prior to the EB, then I (assuming I'm healthy) will just show up and soft pedal the whole event. Its really only the hills that will SUCK! πŸ˜‰ Later, CJB

  14. Wanted to spread the word about Bastrop Signs as a local source for custom decals and signs. Needed some rim decals ETC for a build and was referred to Matt over at Bastrop where he was able to use the vector file from the manufacturer and his color pantone to create a perfect match to the frame. Something that has been very difficult to do when using companies from out of state or in Europe. The good quality and price is on par with what i've purchased from stikrd and slik, but the customer service and satisfaction of dealing with a local, family owned business is something the other guys cant compete with. Give Matt a shout if you're looking for some custom fork, wheel or general purpose decals. https://www.instagram.com/bastropsign https://bastropsigns.com/

  15. The green twists the presentation just right. Kinda like how scrambled eggs are rather blah to eat, but toss in some fresh jalapenos and Wowza!

  16. Rode at 4 pm and it was pretty much as Albert described. Some fairly large muddy spots along the way. Rained later in the evening. I hiked the trail after that and it was muddier. It should be too muddy to ride in the morning. With any more rain Saturday, it will be toase tor the whole weekend.

  17. I would add that there's a third group: Those that do wench, and fuck it up, then become those that don't, and take's it to someone that does. πŸ™‚ Also, I would agree about checking your seat post as well. Something that took me forever to locate as the culprit.
