  2. I rode it all except West Deception after EBD. Started at Gumdrop n headed West. Just the usual ride through mud in a few spots. Go get it.

  3. Omg. What a euphoric post ride feeling. That ride was unbelievably needed and both the weather and the trails were absolute titties. Fittingly, I got hit with the song “It’s Been a While” by Staind. Thank you to whomever worked on the muddy turns just before and after Rainy Day. Much appreciated.

  4. I have no problem with dogs. I had 4 (and a cat) at one time. Back up to 1 after going back to zero (losing them is so tough.) My problem is with people, specifically bad owners who: Don't pick up after their dog (I know on leash doesn't guarantee they will, but off leash the dog goes wherever and owner is not aware). Coliform bacteria in our water is real. Have dogs that have zero recall. Have dogs that are aggressive toward other dogs or toward people or toward cyclists. I've had dogs charge me multiple times. I've had dogs attack my dogs. Get "confused", and think all parks are off leash. It's only a few apples that ruin the barrel. I used to take my dogs to the trail, but I stopped because of the above reasons.

  5. Meh. Dogs are for emotionally needy people. As far as charging for trail access and private land stuff, I will be moving in about 7 years to SOMEWHERE TBD I will be more free to roam. And, why do we care about a hiking only trail again?

  6. Maybe they got their pricing structure from Spider Mountain and didn't want to be left in the cold.

  7. I've gone there with my kids to hike. We were always respectful and limited ourselves to only a small fire pit and one single cabrito. Plus we always cleaned up most of the pinata tailings. Not cool river place, not cool. My abuela is going to miss our time camping there.

  9. I wish. Just looked up when daylight savings begins and was happy to see it’s only 3.5wks away. Opinions about the legitimacy of it all aside, I’m stoked that I can do more frequent shorter rides after work. Might even break out the lights for a transition ride or two once it hits march 10.

  11. same here, they work great, and it doesn't take a large volume of air to seat.

  12. Amazing conditions yesterday. Of course now that the weather is better, I can't ride today or tomorrow.

  13. Definitely some wet spots still. Point Six Loop had some major puddling in some spots. Didn't make it to BMX or Windy loop as it seems to take longer than the rest of walnut to dry out. With that said you can definitely ride much of walnut without destroying the trail. I stuck mainly to the stuff around powerline hill and its pretty dang dry on that side of the park.

  15. How are the trails? What did you ride? I might go out there tomorrow. I really need a ride on the mountain bike!

  16. Kind of been there... Kind of done that... For a couple of years, while owning/running my business.

  17. Same here. My 3 gallon 100psi compressor is no more effective than my air blasting floor pump. If I can't seat it with the pump, I'm not going to get it seated with the compressor. Edit: this one, https://www.jensonusa.com/Foundation-Airblast-Tubeless-Floor-Pump-Alloy-Barrel-Twin-Valve-260-PSI?pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=shopping_us&pt_keyword=&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnY_jBRDdARIsAIEqpJ1x07s2rcEsfR3Qdj8zQefQKfe3sqx_5ts4JTc8YUCb0JGmMTQdMBQaAipjEALw_wcB

  18. I have a compressor, but ended up with one of those floor pumps with the air tank instead. I can use it when my kid is asleep, and I can take it with me to various tire destroying ride locations. If it had been available in the first place I'd have just skipped the compressor. Unless you're going to become a carpenter also or something.

  20. Nobody has ever inferred that I might be a smartass before. All seriousness aside, contacting someone using the email address from the Contact page (spidermountain@mcp.ski) might be more effective in getting the message to a person in a position to actually effect the change desired.

  22. I will ride 1/4 Notch tonight at 4:30pm. Please don't judge me! I'll contribute to a trail building day! I swear!

  23. Im gonna keep my reply very short and sweet and not tell the story on how ive dealt with this. don't do this kind of shit! the entitled attitude that people apparently have and disrespect for other people's private property is very surprising. some times the best answer is to just follow the rules or stay away. and sometimes staying away is the rule! "no trespassing"

  24. My dog keeps asking to go to fancy trails like this and I tell her, "sweetheart, you need to get a job and stop spending all daddy's money on your fancy trails. You need to get a J-O-B." But that lazy bitch refuses to work.

  26. As a recovering skateboarder, I look at spider mountain more like a skatepark. It's a sanctioned & confined area thats free of pedestrians, cars, offers support for first aid and most importantly, a place where i can improve my skillset and abilities until i'm ready to call it a day. As mentioned in the other risk thread, the penalty for failure is pretty high on a lot of trails around austin, and isnt the best place to safely push your limits. I've been watching the vids and pretty stoked to go, especially seeing they also rent DH sleds.
