  2. Sure was, lol. I was the guy in the blue helmet :) We rolled a decent sized rock up the hill to help, but it could definitely stand to be beefed up a bit.

  3. I've walked that feature many times and have never noticed the "C" line. Of course, maybe that's because I don't mind walking something if I find it too technical. Thanks for putting the tree back--this is one of those spots I would like to master.

  4. I haven't seen a decent DIY version. Mostly I'd be afraid it would absorb sealant I run Huck Norris and it was $60 for the pair from Jenson. The description is confusing and makes it look like you need 2, but they come as a pair. And the packaging doubles as a silly plastic fender. The reason I chose HN was weight and ease of set up. So far I'm really liking them. During the Sidewinder portion of the DM, I noticed that my rear tire had gotten quite low. I wanted to keep going, so I long fought the urge to add air. Well I ended up taking a few really decent square edge hits before deciding to give up and add air. But no snakebites and no rim dings. And here is that silly fender on my monstertour:

  5. I don't know the name of this feature, but does anyone else take the up-and-over line in blue as opposed to trying to squeeze in between? Kind of fun if you haven't tried it. EDIT: clearly I didn't read the entire thread before posting this...

  6. REMINDER: There's a building session on Peddlers Pass tomorrow at 9:00am - 11:00am (meet under Parmer). There is a lot to be done. Even if you can only spare 20 minutes before your ride, I would really appreciate it. If you show up later, look for us near the rollers East of Parmer. I can sign paydirt forms

  7. Spotting is exactly what I was doing for my son. Also, +1 on the no shame walking to avoid injury. I'm all for shaming making short cuts or non-sanctioned lines, but not for shaming people walking a feature above their level. I walk plenty of stuff. Sometimes, walking it, and rolling the bike down it and seeing how it goes is what I need to get it the next time.

  8. Aah, my bad. I don't think I've ever gone over that rock. I'll have to try that next time I'm out there! If you get there before me, move the branches a bit. I probably won't be back out there until Monday.

  9. You are right. I didn't look close enough at that. One of the lines IS OVER and should stay that way Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  10. Isn’t one of the lines there over the big rock? ... or the alternative wall ride? Big rock is fun, I don’t think it should have branches on it. But If it needs to be for some reason, wall ride is fun too

  11. Ha. Was that you I questioned on what you were doing. If so thanks for blocking that up. May need to do a more permanent block there too. I'm thinking big boulder. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  12. I strongly recommend everyone walk something that they are not comfortable riding. There is no shame in avoiding injury. When riding that area with a group, I usually jump out ahead so I can get off my bike and spot for people that want to try the A-Line. I can limit the risk for most people so they can try it and practice until they feel comfortable riding it. My offer of spotting for you is still available. I seem to remember a 4th of July ride where you nailed another such spot with me just being ready. You rode it perfectly and I never touched you.

  13. If you are going to install a concrete filled steel pipe, you should put a metal sign on it explaining why it is there and telling people not to sanitize the trails or this is what will happen.

  14. I have the camelbak Palos and it definitely took some getting used to; however, I’ll never go back to a backpack unless absolutely necessary (rare for me). Loosening during rides was an issue for me in the beginning but then I bought the strap holder deals (sorry can’t remember name) and it stays nice and secure now. I carry 50oz water in bladder, pump, tube, patch kit, multitool, levers, and a snack. Sooo glad to get those damn straps off my shoulders and the pack off my back. Admittedly, I do have to adjust it slightly (just hiking up the position while riding) several times a ride but, for me, it has become second nature and the benefit outweighs any cons.

  15. Peddlers is good to go. I rode it at lunchtime and it's fine. I guess the drainage improvements have worked.

  16. Blocked the aforementioned go-arounds on DD today. It's nothing particularly permanent, so I imagine they'll probably get moved again... just keep moving them back!
