  1. A private mountain bike/airgun biathlon program that I run will be expanding its operations. A great trail system near Hamilton Pool offers many different course options. There are 2 basic classes. Air pistol only and air pistol/air rifle. The cost to participate is very low for the air pistol class as we use the Crosman Vigilante that sells for about 50 dollars. Rifles are open to most any .177 operating at less than 12 foot pounds of muzzle energy. Safety clinics/orientation sessions are now forming. Over 21 years of age only at this time. A separate junior program could be set up if there are enough participants. If interested pm me your email to get on the information list.

  2. No problem - although I do recall my neighbor's car getting stolen a while back. By the looks of it though, he may have arranged that himself.

  3. I hit out at 745AM and it was fine. By 750ishAM there was a little sprinkle Exposed rocks were slick as hell. Got out after 4 miles of slow moving. Now it is steady sprinkles Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  4. We need a new place in our area for bandit trails.

  5. I talk even on solo rides. Mostly yelling things at the trail or begging my bike to hold together. Sometimes I say hi to the birds and squirrels.

  6. That is awesome. I went to a Texas Toast Jan and he and Nyquist were doing some crazy stuff on a huge half pipe. This was recently (less than 10 years ago) so Hoffman had already broken most of the bones in his body and he was still sending it. Such a bad ass. Thanks for sharing. 7. Sorry to hear people stuff is getting stolen. You’re welcome to park at my house as well, but it’s a small regional trail ride compared to where you normally park.

  8. Oh, and I always say "hey puppy" to any dog I see on the trail, especially loose ones. It tends to soothe them for some reason.

  9. I hardly do any group rides but when I do the only talking I do is for someone to call 9-1-1 for me.

  10. Seriously, thanks for doing this. Skills park would be awesome and as a dog owner it would be great to have a dog park southwest. BTW, I think the dog park proposal in circle c got shutdown because of ADA requirements and associated cost. A little unsolicited advice - frame arguments as the value it will bring instead the lack of something. Providing comparative examples from other progressive cities, both domestic and abroad, could help as well. “Portland has X number of dog parks per capita and three different certifications for organic food. To keep up with the Jones, Austin would need Y number."

  11. Awesome sunset ride tonight....so close to being able to make runs at all the features again. Clawing back the fitness a millimeter at a time, but I’m forgetting how to ride tech. Plus, this 27.5” FS rig has never known me in any kind of riding shape. Still learning how to ride the damn thing after 2 or 3 years. But it’s funny how this bike becomes more fun the more regularly I ride it. Things that make you go hmmm. Found a rare reflector on Gumdrop East tonight. I rarely see Barneys out that way. Glad I got it in before the rain. Now it’s time to actually go get it in.

  12. So I said screw it since I was already strava-ing my ride to see total mileage of my usual ride (right at 27mi) and I did peddlers to see. I stayed pretty conservative just trying to flow and spin semi-tall gears in the few straights out there. I tried to brake as little as possible and control speed with gearing and pedals. I still had to ride everything else and only stopped to take a pic of the sunset. I’m a sucker for sunsets. Strava said 17:15....I feel like it’s probably accurate enough relative to say First Blood’s time. I definitely could have pushed harder but it turned out just right for finishing my ride without blowing up. Are there t-shirts for race participants? And FirstBlood, we gotta get out somewhere like walnut on that tandem, son!!

  13. Did you watch that 30 for 30? Everyone should.

  14. I ride 28-30 on aluminum and have never had problems with the handling on tires. When I forget to check my air before I ride, sometimes it feels squirrelly with only 20-25 pounds. But, I'm weird.

  15. After the shit I went through, the Nerve Conduction study is just and excuse to torture you for a fee. Enough said about that. I try to rarely make recommendations, but so far my experience with Dr. Harris Rose has been highly successful. He did some major wrist surgery on me back in 2011 and it was a total success. So far with my Carpal/Cubital tunnel issues, it's been the same. Although, so far with my Carpal/Cubital I haven't even seen the surgeon. It's only the PA and the PT. I know that June Bug fairly recently used him, and there was at least one other person on Mojo that used him. He can be kind of and ass (was to me) but his work is impeccable (again, for me). Another plus IMO, is that he has a PT right in his office. So far, for the injections for the Carpal in both hands with insurance it was $180. For the Cubital I've had 2 PT sessions at $35 per session.

  16. 30psi will definitely protect your carbon hoops. But depending on your tire choice 30psi might not be the best ride or handling. I had Schwalbe tires previously, a new version Hans Dampf 29x2.35 front and a Nobby Nic 29x2.35 rear on 29mm IW hoops. I was running 28 psi rear and 23 front. Tires felt good and handled well at those pressures without rim strikes. Switched to Maxxis DHF 29x2.5 front and Aggressor 29x2.5 rear. Aired these tires up to the same pressures I was running in the Schwalbe's. They felt like I had 45-50psi in them. The carcass is much stiffer in these tires than the Schwalbe's they felt like solid rubber tires. I aired the Maxxis down to 20psi rear and 15 front and they feel pretty good now I may be able to go a bit lower, but at these lower pressures no rim strikes at all. So air pressure is going to give different results between different tire brands. BTW I really like the Aggressor on the back, almost enough to consider it for the front.

  17. I have a mill that we could set it up on. I'm not sure what the knock block is for, but I saw the modified picture, so if that's the cut you need we can do that.

  18. Hit it soon after this weekend. 300+ racers pulverize the loose limestone gravel into dust. ARR has also blown/raked the oak leaves and trimmed corridor, so the trail is primo. Let the race pass and hit it 1-2 days after a light rain. Trust me.

  19. Definitely not Hoffman approved. If you’re parents build you a $10k halfpipe, they probably have enough insurance for you to send it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Hey, I get it! But if you've gone to enough of these BCP meetings you end up keying in on their objection points. But I tell you this, if the Ft Hood 'simulated warfare operations study' didn't change their toon, nothing will. -CJB

  22. I get it. I would not want to try and copulate with my wife if my son was riding his bike nearby.

  23. That reminds me of a motorcycle tour I did in Europe one time. Large group riding through a small village that had narrow streets with many blind 90 degree turns that our group was having to navigate. The group comes upon a large tourist bus that was having difficulty navigation the tight turns. I'm fourth in line and the lead rider manages to get around the bus before the next turn. Suddenly the two riders in front of me take off around the bus, TOTALLY blind maneuver. Myself and everyone behind slam on the brakes, totally freaked out expecting massive carnage once we get around the bend. Turns out those three guys had communication systems and the lead rider had told the other two that the coast was clear and to come on around. Freaked the heck out of everybody. 😳
