  1. A bike that black might be a potential target for theft ... Zaphod's attention however was elsewhere. His attention was riveted on the ship standing next to Hotblack Desiato's limo. His mouths hung open. "That," he said, "that ... is really bad for the eyes ..." Ford looked. He too stood astonished. It was a ship of classic, simple design, like a flattened salmon, twenty yards long, very clean, very sleek. There was just one remarkable thing about it. "It's so ... black!" said Ford Prefect, "you can hardly make out its shape ... light just seems to fall into it!" Zaphod said nothing. He had simply fallen in love. The blackness of it was so extreme that it was almost impossible to tell how close you were standing to it. "Your eyes just slide off it ..." said Ford in wonder. It was an emotional moment. He bit his lip. Zaphod moved forward to it, slowly, like a man possessed - or more accurately like a man who wanted to possess. His hand reached out to stroke it. His hand stopped. His hand reached out to stroke it again. His hand stopped again. "Come and feel the surface," he said in a hushed voice. Ford put his hand out to feel it. His hand stopped. "You ... you can't ..." he said. "See?" said Zaphod, "it's just totally frictionless. This must be one mother of a mover ..." He turned to look at Ford seriously. At least, one of his heads did - the other stayed gazing in awe at the ship. "What do you reckon, Ford?" he said. "You mean ... er ..." Ford looked over his shoulder. "You mean stroll off with it? You think we should?" "No." "Nor do I." "But we're going to, aren't we?" "How can we not?"

  5. DON'T PANIC Some people may entirely miss the humorous intent behind a pop-culture reference to the work of the late Douglas Adams and believe the theft comment was sincere. Others may not miss this at all, while simultaneously realizing any chance for Ford Prefect and Zaphod Beeblebrox to abscond with their ride is astronomically unlikely.

  7. Thanks. Still sorting out some issues with upper headset and BB but it'll be together for the cooler weather and roadtrips. Tempted to drag it to snowshoe but not down with the transportation costs just yet. Appreciate it. My trailbike is colored way over the top so i wanted the exact opposite for this one. Got custom stealth frame/fork decals, painted over chrome and the lettering on tires. The tires are 27.5 x 2.5 DHSS in the rear and 27.5 x 2.6 DHF mounted on 35mm internal rims. The rotors are 203 F&R.

  8. Im a fan of the all black look. Curious--What size tires are those? (width wise) The rotors look like 180s right?

  9. As disgusting as that sounds, it might just be slightly more palatable to some than the Chicken Feet or other Asian snacks you have brought.

  10. Just registered for the 30s division! Never raced Enduro before, but have always been curious. This event looks like too much fun to pass up. Thanks to Seth for giving me an excuse to take the plunge. Looking forward to riding the Bandera trails - they seem plenty rowdy from the YouTube videos!

  11. In August & September, you can fly from Austin to Kalispell, MT for under $500 roundtrip since it's considered out of season. It's a quick 6 hour flight with a stop in Denver on United. There's a ton of really good trails around. In particular, the Whitefish Bike Retreat is pretty awesome. You can camp and ride some short but really fun flowing trails on the property. It also connects to the Whitefish Trail which has 20+ miles of single track. There's 25 miles of downhill at Whitefish Bike Park on Big Mountain. I think it's really good riding for place not many Austinites would think of going since at first glance it appears difficult to get to.

  12. Bought a new 3l white oak barrel and aging it with an affordable quad for 30 days. Gonna dump that beer out, and fill with silver corn whiskey for 90 days. I usually cheap out and use a 2 gallon glass carboy and char some oak spirals when aging a spirit, but this time i went back to a cask.

  13. I just checked the Leadville 100 results for 2019 and our own Hoss Kleinschmidt from Austin finished in less than 12 hours. I’ve ridden with Hoss on many occasions and he is a machine. Congrats to Hoss and all the other finishers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
