Something BIG is happening. This is an exclusive Austin Mountain Biking forum announcement.
Stay tuned for details.
I'm going to be digging a sign post hole at the entrance to Peddlers Pass after 5:00pm today, so i'll be implementing a fee of 5 swings of the pickaxe prior to admittance.
But in all seriousness, I've got to dig down 2 feet in solid rock so if you can stop by and help for a few minutes that would be awesome.
OR....several people in front of you, you ring your bell, they SPLIT and step off to BOTH sides, giving you only a narrow path between them. Move left or right, I don't care, but PLEASE go the same way. So much easier to go around than squeeze between. Why don't people get that?
REI is a major supporter of ARR, last time I checked. They are generous with their employees, for a retail company as well. Their garage sales keep stuff out of landfills and sell gear cheap. What's not to like?
Walnut Creek is the most dangerous trail system in Austin. This has been proven over and over. Newbies and Elite level riders alike all have stories of spectacular crashes at WC and many significant injuries have been sustained on those trails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd be interested in a competition dedicated to carry pistols. Since we actually carry them and all. An air rifle? nah. Sounds like what those British and Australian people do to console themselves since their government doesn't let them have real weapons.
I have not had an issue with the PNW or KS dropper levers. Clearly there are better ones on the market but I guess, like many other things bike related, I don't have a strong opinion on the difference. The only thing that bugged me about the KS lever was that because it was small, it would slip in sweaty conditions. I put some stuff on the button to give it more of a grip. A $3 solution that works fine now.
When they do that I yell "RAMMING SPEEEEEDDDDD!!!"
Most of the time they all swap sides of the trail - again. But they take an extra step or two farther from the trail. Now I have room to pass.
If anybody makes a comment like "how rude" or "hikers have right of way" I stop and talk to them. I point out that they do have right of way and I did politely ask them to pass when there was a chance. But instead they did this side swap 'dance' and blocked the trail again. I say - "So it no longer looks like sharing the trail with other users but like a pre-rehearsed comedy routine. I was contributing to their comedy routine. So where is the camera?" Most of the time they start laughing at how ridiculous this sounds. And they recognize how accurate it is.
Almost all of the "single speed" bikes on the market have a derailer hanger, in case you decide to puss out with gears. If you're hardcore, you take a hacksaw to it.
I've been collecting DNA samples for your database for years now. I put them in little green bags next to the trail. Have you not been collecting them?
