  2. Are you the same guy that blocks RA and complains about him all the time? Seriously? I'm going to say it here. Bartman may be a great person IRL but he was not a great addition to the forum. At best it was noise (much like RA), at worst it was something else. It depends on your perspective how you take his posts just like I could find stuff that could tweak your sensitivities. Y'all can call me a snowflake or libtard or whatever you want to make you feel like a big man.

  3. WHATS UP EVERYONE! Who is going to the Full Gass on Peddlers Pass 2020 event? Time Trial XC Racing - a sweet new type of racing format! FEBRUARY 15TH! get signed up at - https://www.bikereg.com/full-gas-on-peddlers-pass-winter last year this was a super fun event, brought you you by EnduraRace - same promoter who brings you Dragon Slayer! Timing provided by Victory Racing! (quote from original post on Facebook) - So the dirt individual time trial at Peddlers Pass is seeing some interesting additions. Last year we had a tandem class. One tandem showed up and it was bloody (literally) good entertainment. This year we added a Clydesdale class for the big and tall sorts who don’t like chasing the horse jockeys. We also have added an electric vehicle class that include categories for One Wheels (think single wheel hoverboards/skateboards), EVunicycles, and Ebikes. Register online or onsite for the same pricing.

  4. Pretty sure that the bike probably does not support internal routing. That spec at that price probably precludes such fanciness. The best way to find out is to check for cable ports near the head tube that go inside the frame. If you have no internal routing for anything, you'll need an externally routed dropper. External routing is not a bad thing - they are cheaper and easier to work on.

  5. OK, finally had enough free time to finish out my reviews (some as late as last year). Here's the latest: Lake leatherwood - http://www.austinbike.com/index.php/united-states/369-leatherwood Passion Play - http://www.austinbike.com/index.php/united-states/368-passionplay Suburban Ninja - http://www.austinbike.com/index.php/north-of-austin/366-ninja Brushy Creek (updated) - http://www.austinbike.com/index.php/north-of-austin/15-brushy Trying to get out to a new trail southwest of here next week, we'll see how that goes. Going to spend the rest of today trying to finish up my bleeding brakes article before heading out to ride.

  6. Damn - that is actually him. Agree with Antonio, he doesn’t belong here, as much as he would deal with RA.

  8. A dropper is soooo much more than simply getting behind the seat for a big drop. It gets you weight low and allows you to maneuver your body anytime you are descending.

  9. Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking just do the dropper since it is an easier swap, but when i saw the fork weight I was kind of appalled, and it seemed like a logical upgrade. I need to talk to her more about what she is experiencing with the fork. I am also just remembering when I rented a Spec. RH in Breckenridge a few years back and wished I had my rigid fork Redline. Of course now that I have the Dback I am on board with front suspension. I'm not familiar with NICA, but I think she and her roomate just joined the Mtn Bike club at their school (Colorado School of Mines)

  10. We did both of the blues (one twice) and the green. Those were plenty for me. I think if we had gone there for the whole day we would have done the blacks as well, but I am not sure anyone in our group would have done the double black unless we knew that all of the gaps had options on them. I don't mind riding steep and sketchy as long as I can take my time; I stayed off the blacks because a.) I did not want to slow down other riders and b.) I was already worn out from Passion Play. Oh, plus, I'm a wuss.

  11. The only plus side of using a straight steerer and QR axles is that you may be able to find a gently used one for really cheap on Craigslist or eBay. At 110 lbs, she may never bottom out a cheap coil fork, but a decent air fork can be tuned to give her all the travel available.

  12. I'm afraid to search Google Images for that.

  13. I treat MTB like guitar playing. Hang out with, and learn from people more advanced than I am.

  15. I met someone this past Sunday... She's a local BMX champion in her class and came in third in the nationals... Pretty cool. We got to talking about mountain biking and I found out that she's really interested in participating in local mtb races, so I told her about this and sent her the info. She's pretty excited about it. Wants her young son and daughter to ride in it too.

  16. Looks awesome but gonna be in AR for DH. Rode peddlers pass this past Sunday, first time since it was built a couple of years ago. Damn, nicely done out there. The flow is so much better and super fun!

  32. Tomorrow it will be between 78 and 81F for the beginning of the ride and "jacket cool" for post riding activity. I plan to get an early lap in and definitely think that the conditions will be primo, both on the ground and in the air. Get it while you can, the weather changes pretty crazily late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

  34. More wiping, less typing. I'm embarrassed I even got pulled back into this thread to survey the shit show once again. Annual Mag... wtf kind of stupid ass idea is that? At least when I lose my mind it's while playing drums or guitar and not on a public forum. Beside old people calling other old people old? Get the ban hammer mods. This guy is a community killer and traffic driver going the wrong way. Cheers to all you cool people still brave enough to visit this site, but one bad apple......Austinmountainbiking.com RIP if this guy is still allowed to post. He will be the only one left.

  37. Wow those are nice! I've never attempted to stage any cool biking pics, but when you're the last one in the group sometimes your friends are standing by to get a nice shot. Here's one from Buff Creek in CO. What ya'll got?

  38. It's about 220-acres. Not much on-line info available. The is park of the Parks and Rec trails Master Plan. City plans are to build parking area/play ground near intersection of Wyoming Spings/Old Settlers and have a 3.5-ish mile hiking/biking trail. The has been a spider web of trail out there for years. Have been cleaning cob webs and establishing a route. In the 4.8-ish mile loop, there is about 10 feet in elevation change. Mostly grassy with a few wooded sections.

  39. So I've had some really good rides over the past week and was thinking I'd be making a final post on my successful recovery. However I now find myself in a hospital bed with a pulmonary embolism. They found a clot in my leg as well and are concluding that was the origin of the one that made its way to my lung. Just can't catch an f'n break!
