  1. Well we didn't have a fancy table cloth, and we certainly were not dressed up, but a week ago my wife and I celebrated our 20th yr wedding anniversary while eating Chic-Fil-A in the back of my truck, overlooking the ATX skyline at sunset! 😉 photo hosting sites image hosting sites

  2. Got my Ventana setup with the drops. New stem and brakes and levers. I left her 32x17. Ordered new Ikons but they arent in yet. Thanks for the suggestions and education. Took her out this AM early and did my usual at Brushy around sunrise ride. Iwas so excited I forgot my pack in the fridge but rode anyways. Called it at 9.x miles since my saddle came loose and I didnt have my tool with me. Drops are so different and coupled with a 17t cog made little punchy climbs I normally dont think about into walkers. She is gonna keep being a fun ride. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  4. Paramedics out at the Peddlers Pass trail head. Gentleman is doing ok. But they are Wheeling him out. Cardiac related but conscious and talking. Mountain bikers and other good Samaritans were helping.

  5. Just got back from sessioning DD. I was able to utilize “the punch“ to clean every step up but some I had to try a few times to get it. Now just need to work on consistency. The only one I was having a hard time cleaning was the step up that has the loose climb just before it. Hard to get enough speed to punch up. Ended up having to brute force it. IMG_1849.MOV

  6. Riding home last night I passed through the Arboretum Duck Pond area. Near the corner by Z-Tejas next to the ponds an older couple had set up a small table and chairs in the back of a full size pickup. They had a white table cloth, nice wine glasses, and were dressed up, the whole nine yards. It was probably 7 by then and they were in the shade and there was a nice breeze. I kind of chuckled to myself as I rode by but I had to admit it was a pretty good idea. I don't know if they picked something up from Eddie-Vs or Z-Tejas or what but it looked like they were quite enjoying themselves. I may never see that again in my life.

  7. I rode through the domain yesterday and there were restaurants with people sitting at tables outside. Freaked me out. No masks, just hanging out outside. My gut says that most of the people were not living together, so that is less than 6' with people you don't live with - high risk behavior. And people shopping - a line (properly spaced with masks) out side the Louis Vuitton store. Do you REALLY need ugly shit that bad? I just don't get it. I understand going out to get groceries, but why are people going into a jewelers or an interior decorations store??

  11. I heard the strategy that is being implemented is "crossing our fingers". If I had known that's all it takes we're all in pretty good shape. We can go back to normal life as long as we keep our fingers crossed. This is going to be a pretty sh!tty experiment.

  12. I really don't shop local when it comes to whisky but in the price range you're looking at you really can't go wrong with Maker's.

  13. Hey nothing wrong with that - and trust me you'll have DD down in no time if you have the physicality to run 1/4 end-to-end in 16 min. I used to pack a full lunch and take 3 hours to go end-to-end when I first started riding Deception (1/4 Notch and DD combined). Now I can go end-to-end in well under an hour in either direction, and then turn around and go back in the opposite direction. Like others have stated, I thought many of the features were un-rideable when I first saw them. There are a couple of spots I generally don't even attempt anymore for fear of stalling on the incline and then falling backwards with nothing to stop me (like getting up Jammer). Probably more mental than anything, but at 61 I don't want to rely on brut strength that I just don't have.

  15. Here's another really good video for solving this problem. The key here is not to actually place your front wheel on top of the object but to instead glance off the top of it to propel you up and over while unweighting the back of the bike. It's called the punch. The timing can be tricky but it's a great move.

  18. The "opening up the state for business" during a spike is probably the strangest thing i've witnessed. Gee, a spike following about two weeks after easter holiday when all the morons went out for bunnies and jesus and are now sick. Wait for the spike two weeks from now. Gonna be insane. Aside from that impending trainwreck Wife and I were riding bikes around the neighborhood this morning, and saw a couple having a picnic on one of the vacant lots where a home was torn down by the city. We waved and said hello and they replied that it was their old house, and they were eating where their dining room used to be. Fair enough.
