  1. I don't like this trend but if it continues can we charge 1 six-pack for every muddy bike that comes out at the parking lot behind ATX? The article mentions nudity & drug use. Where? Where exactly should I be avoiding?

  2. No. Joke. My Double is 10 years old and I need a new slope bike. This class is already a niche, and with everything going on, you can't find one to save your life. Finally had to get a friend in the UK to grab me a Canyon Stitched 720 and send it over:

  3. find a socket that fits with a little wiggle room inside your steerer tube. put a washer on a headset compression bolt and put it in the socket thread a nut on the other end where the bolt protrudes from the socket spin your star nut onto the exposed threads of the bolt set the star nut in the steerer and give it a few whacks with a rubber mallet. the socket will keep it somewhat straight yes, a $10-20 star nut setter tool will do a better job, but in a pinch, if you only do these rarely, a socket and some washer will do the same thing.

  4. Apparently everyone is trying to start biking and there is a shortage of used bikes (like there is a shortage of fitness equipment). This is a really good time to sell a bike you have been sitting on for awhile.

  5. Problem is, "only the old, poor and incarcerated will get it" attitude from state and federal governments is overlooking one crucial detail. Children. The people infected have children, which will go to school, maybe your kid's school, and spread the virus to students, parents, faculty or other staff members, who also have families. The state leaders are aware that places like elementary schools are one of the largest vectors of virus transmission, but are marching forward with business as usual plans even though they were advised to do otherwise. Schools are the daycares of the working class, and they have to get kids butts in seats in order to get the cash rolling again (which it wont). Just wait till' suburban taylor or tyler or sklyer and kyler gets covid. These attitudes will change real fast. Totally agree on the mismanagement and misinformation. It's certainly been amateur hour at best

  6. Some good info in this thread to start: How many days riding? It may be getting really hot, you may want to go further up in elevation (like Cedar City or so) unless you are specifically tied to St George. There is some excellent riding there though. Food/beverage options not so much.

  7. Just get the dang tool. It's not expensive and it totally fits in to the "Right tool for the job" category. When you use it you'll be like, "Well, that was SO easy!" The same thing goes for true cable housing cutters, hydraulic brake line cutters (not the same as cable cutters), and fork steerer tube cutting guides. These tools are rarely used, expensive, and SOOO effective at their job that it's completely worth it!

  10. Hate to inform you, but your bike and now SUV are contaminated with radio active waste. I don't know where you rode, but it wasn't worth it to avoid the 'rona.

  11. Another post donation turned up for us today, so Josh can take first dibs - love to see new stuff popping up all over. If he can't use it all, I'll take whatever is left over.

  13. Get 4 Home Depot buckets. Place the legs inside the buckets. Fill buckets with whatever you find onsite (sand, rocks, water will work if not too windy). If it's really windy or just want to use water for ease, you can tie the legs directly to the buckets. These work great and also available at HD:

  14. I agree it is odd that they have really only broadcasted about nursing home deaths. If they're releasing prisoners, are there actually prisons elsewhere that are packed with people with covid? Why don't we ever hear about children coming down with it?

  15. Besides the lumber for Snaggle, we probably have enough to repair this as well.

  20. Sorry, I figured it out now. Every time I've seen that bike the tires have been touching the ceiling, so seeing tires on ground was a little disorientating. Sadly, the current meat supply situation has made my new hobby of taking 3 lbs. of meat and turning it into 1 pound a little less practical.

  21. It’s kinda silly actually. They just cut fast and easy. I like the ergonomics of it and there’s a really satisfying snap they make when they cut. It’s really nothing more than a housing for a spring loaded razor blade. It’s just one of those simple tools that are really effective. https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/jagwire-sport-hydraulic-brake-line-cutter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Go into any store that sells bikes. I've recently been in an Academy and Dick's. Their bike inventories were very small. Empty shelves. I am hoping all of our local bike stores are doing equally well.

  28. Great conditions yesterday. A few tacky spots, but no mud on Bambi, disc go, fence line out to Bear Lake. Bernia was fine, took Firehouse back and it was tacky up top but nothing stuck, no ruts. Terminus, E Spank, home, all good.

  29. As much as I am not a fan of Abbott, almost half of the cases are from meat packing plants, nursings homes and prisons. Which, if you read between the lines, says "hey, you're probably gonna be ok..." But how do you get that message out? It is an interesting tightrope and, quite frankly, Patrick was so quick to offer up others to get his barber opened, why can't we get him on "the list"? Basically a large part of this mismanagement is the lack of transparency around risks and factors.
