  3. I know that we as parents can get proud of what our kids accomplish. After all, its pretty cool to see them take some "firsts" in the bike world or accomplish stuff that's new or cool to them (and us). There have been a few times were I sorta wanted to post up these things from my kids, but I just couldn't figure out a format that didn't seem....well...braggadocios. But after having a few off-topic discussions over in the PIF thread, I realized that others may be feeling the same way as me. Combine that with the fact I love to see other kids doing cool stuff and I decided to start this thread. Feel free to post up some cool $hit your kid has done. I'd love to check it out! To pick up where the comments in the PIF thread left off... I'll go first... Right on! Here is a photo of my youngest son Levi on the day he learned to ride his bike. He was 2 yrs and 11.5 mos old. He was my most advanced rider out of all 3 of my boys and my goal was to have him pedaling on his own before he was 3 yrs old. archaeology professor salary

  4. My son's Eagle Project was approved. Here is his fundraiser for the new line including signs for the Church trail. Look for material and volunteer requests coming soon. https://www.gofundme.com/f/a5sz8-zach039s-eagle-scout-project?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link-tip&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet

  7. In the mid 90's helmets were awful as far as ventilation. I think by the mid 90's they were getting better.

  8. You've got it right, that should work just fine. I wish we had your frame modeled in our database, this is exactly what our site is designed to help with. Give me a little bit, I'll enter your frame in and then you can check all the part compatibility you want. 🙂 https://cyclingbuilder.com/list/rRBPxr

  9. Good choice and another bad ass creation coming from Manchester. My buddy from new England turned me onto that beer back in the 90s. The little widget is cool AF too. Cheers!

  10. Absolutely plus one on both. LOL. Glad I wasn't the only one. My son was riding his bike at a ridiculously young age. Everyone at the park would start asking how in the world I taught him so young. Find a nice grassy slope and let him go!

  14. If you feel you must comment, I'd advise to take the "I'm the trail steward approach" with a single reply being sure to be clear, polite and articulate. DO NOT pile on with multiple replies from others. That's a good way to create an obstinate enemy. And as I've pointed out before, public shaming does nothing to help the issue and it is likely to have the opposite effect.

  15. I usually crimp by the 22-18 part to the RIGHT of the pivot. I crimp right near the opening of the cable end nib and then crimp again in the middle of the nib.

  16. diagonal cutters. squeeze the cable end in the blades until they crimp, but does not cut all the way through. crimp two diagonal lines, then a diagonal one connecting them like Zorro!

  17. I use my electrical multi-tool pliers. Same as you'd use to crimp a terminal over a wire.

  19. Took apart my first BB this weekend. I could see the press fit cups had gaps between the frame and there was some creaking going on. Took apart all the threaded pieces pressed the cups back flush cleaned greased and reassembled. I can't tell that I did any damage so far. The beater bike lives another day.
