Made it 55 miles today. Trail to trail connected by road. Temps were in the 60s for most of the ride. High was about 76. Only issue was the head wind for the last 14-miles3 points

So the weather actually sucked this morning. Had to ride over 10 miles of BCGB on slippery wet rock. But all the other trails were totally dry and temps were great.2 points

I appreciate the info I get here so I wanted to follow up with how this played out for whoever cares; I installed the new GX drivetrain on mt Jet9 with newly built 29" wheels with DT 350s. (i also upgraded the star ratchet rings on the hub "zzzzzzzz") Limited trail time but, so far so good. I also picked up a 12 speed Sunrace cassette for my old 27.5s wheels w/Deore hubs that allows me to hot-swap the wheels. The cassette works surprisingly well with the GX kit. A true "hot-swap" with no adjustments needed. Love it. This whole set-up will be shifted to my Fezzari deore when it comes in...some day. Thanks for the input on this thread Cheers2 points

Tank 7 is good. First time I had it was in it's home state, in Jefferson City. There to watch the eclipse and stopped at restaurant, then asked the waiter if they had anything local. Tank 7 was it.1 point

Thanks to jcarneytx for meeting up and letting me hop on the Jeffsy. Immediately after checking out the Jeffsy someone came by on a medium Ripmo. They were also cool with letting me peddle it around for a bit. I appreciate the local MTB'ers helping out. 🍻1 point

I love the performance of my WTB Venture 700×50s. I'm on my second pair after 1100 miles. The traction and rolling speed is counter intuitive but killer. And holly hell they corner awesome on singletrack. But they're paper mache when it comes to rocks. You'll get a sidewall rip if you become rock adjacent.1 point

That's actually why I own a "gravel bike," so.I have something to ride when the trails are muddy.1 point

I just rode my MTB this week and was wondering if it was ok to sanitize the trails to accommodate my lack of fitness and skills? Ahhhhh...cooler weather, it brings all the assholes back out 🙂1 point

There is a ride that started and ended at Draught House last year. If you want in, ping me. Not gonna post here.1 point

yes. i still have a pair of the old rei house brand novaro that are still good. i think i paid like $50 for those at the time. and they have a removable liner. just want that same quality and price and cant seem to find it anymore. gonna chance a pair from amazon (urban cycling) to see how good they are. if the shell is good i can always get liners seperately.1 point

Things have changed since you have been away man. You'll see lots of no helmets and flip flops on shitty bikes making me listen to their stupid music. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk0 points
