  1. It's strange, but I looked up that spot on Strava Global Heatmap, and there was hardly any activity on that line. šŸ˜‰

  4. I stumbled onto a couple of guys heading off into BR yesterday afternoon from the Rim Job entrance. I didn't know it was the trail builders and thought it was just two dudes ducking under the "Trail closed" fence. I started to give them a little shit but they identified as trail builders so I backed off. Sorry about that. I felt a little like a 'Karen' I guess but I thought saying something was the lesser of two evils. Stoked to have that connection built up! Well done trail builders.

  7. I'll start him on a 30x34t setup. If he still needs to spin more then we can consider buying a cassette.

  8. My kiddos would likely do just as well at this age with the 34tooth and the XT/XTR would be significantly lighter. Thatā€™s the downfall of the micro shift 9 speed stuff is the weight! They do shift crisply though

  9. Forget the ramp. Bunny hop that bitch!

  10. Not sure if microshifts 9 speed cassettes will play nicely with the other two brands. They do claim there shifters wonā€™t work well with the other brands derailleurs. Iā€™ll try and get my calipers out (I need to find a new battery) and measure distance between cassette cog for you. I would think if the spacing between the two cassettes is the same it would work, but might end up needing one of those wolf tooth derailleur hanger extender things for the medium cage.

  13. I actually have a set you are welcome to. For my 8yoā€™s 24ā€ hotrock I ordered some special tan wall Vee Tire Flow Snaps from Commencal when they were selling their kids bikes with tan walls. I canā€™t find the tan walls anymore, but the tires are a good size and are grippy. I actually had to clip the outer blocks of the tread a little bit to get them to fit between the chain stays! 15. As a rule any time someone looks at a trend and says "X is here to stay" you should take the under on that bet. CDs were here to stay. DVDs were here to stay. Napster was here to stay. 9-speed is here to stay. The world moves on. Except for single speeds. Singlespeeds are here to stay.

  17. Just as a heads up to anyone out there doing a kids or any other bike builds. I used and would recommend the microshift Advent 1x9 drivetrain if your looking at buying from scratch. The four piece groupset cost me ~$124 and was rediculously intuitive to set up and the shifts are crisper than my Sram GX 11 & 12 speed drivetrains on my bikes. It Feels like it has a good clutch. Longevity is the only unknown at this point. Felt like a bit of a gamble when I bought it but so far a winner.

  18. People probably donā€™t want to spend 40min to watch me build my dream bike. But itā€™s my Bikeā€™s birthday and I figured it was finally time to put together the footage from the build. Special thanks to CBaron for holding the GoPro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
