  2. Throwback to last Saturday. Ice on the Blanco River. The pic really doesn’t do it justice.

  3. I’d love to take a dump in a box and mail it to those car warranty and health insurance call centers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Seems like a good time/place for my Rattlesnake on Deception video. Good ol' Mittens! This may have been my 1st or 2nd ride ever at Deception. It was May of 15'.

  6. I do lots of turn-by-turn navigation with the 520. My biggest complain has been addressed with newer firmware. Now I can easily override auto/zoom from the page map, instead of having to go through a bunch of menu options. It makes a difference whose map you use. Keep the points to a minimum but make sure you have some at turns. Battery life is OK but make sure if you're in a very long ride to turn off Bluetooth. It does drain the battery faster, especially if you're doing navigation. Above the 520 is my 705 for one main reason: the little joystick. Thanks for the note on OpenStreetMap @WLemke, I'll have to check that out.

  10. IMO, it's pretty telling that their Instagram feed features runners/hikers obviously not wearing the knee high snake socks.

  12. If you were coming from Escarpment and crossing Abilene, that’s Long Haul Trucker on Strava. The trail continues on the other side of the creek, although I don’t think I’ve never ridden in that direction, so I don’t know how visible it is. It is definitely there, though.

  13. Loose clothing is a better choice to help prevent snake bites. If a snake strikes at loose clothing like your jeans pant leg the fangs most times will get hung up in the fabric. With tight clothing it's much easier for a snake bite to penetrate.

  14. Some Austin clips. And that thing at the end!

  15. Almost 25 years on the austin trails, 2 rattlers, 2-3 copperheads, and a bunch of coral snakes. Never even has a close call. Rattlers, especially, tend to make their presence known. Seems like a lot of work for something that rarely happens. Plus, the human brain is wired to watch for snakes, learned that cool fact about a year ago, yay evolution!
