  2. Thanks for the nudge to try it out again John. Looking back, it has been 10 years since I have been. I had pretty much written it off. And thanks @AntonioGG for the Garmin file. I gave up trying to follow it exactly pretty quickly as the front area of the main trail system is such a spaghetti bowl cluster, it got frustrating real fast. I reverted to my normal routine on a complex system like that and just rode for the first hour or so taking whatever looked like the best option at the time. Once you eddy out of that area it it much easier to navigate. I left your course going on the screen and would hop back on eventually after I got off track, although I think I was going in the opposite direction some of of the time. It definitely looks like the bulk of the work is going into the jump line area, and while gaps are the last thing on my list, the berms and smaller jumps and tabletops are pretty awesome. Signage seems to be somewhat improved but still quite lacking if you aren't familiar, I hate the 'maps' painted on the pallets and basically ignored those. I ended up with 25 miles and pretty close to your route Antonio, but there is definitely trail not on your route or MTBproject and some stuff I know I missed. Will definitely move it into the rotation a bit, maybe more so when other stuff is wet. Oh, and I found the perfect sized table top for me: heh

  3. In any event, it seems all things port are either necessary or possibly fortified.

  5. Some of the best spots in town are glorified deer trails.

  6. It healed up nicely. It now only appears that I was the victim of a gnarly dog attack. In its earliest stages it looked like I had stuck my leg into a wolverine den on a dare.

  8. Worse! Not just an example of a bad trail designer, but a lazy one instead! My experiences have taught me that a few extra hours invested in working harder to make more interesting trail pays off with the resulting years of having more interesting trail to ride.

  9. I thought a port was a town or city with a harbor where ships load or unload, especially one where customs officers are stationed.

  10. By the time of my appointment 8 days after initial symptoms I was back to normal. It didn’t feel like a nerve and I started noticing a huge knot on the rotator cuff. Doctor checked me out to make sure there was nothing structurally wrong. Wondered if there was a bit of something floating in there that eventually cleared off. I was cleared to resume normal activity ramping back up slowly.

  11. Dude, that sucks big time. Sorry. Sounds just like the pinched nerve issues myself and others have dealt with. GL at your appointment. Worst is when they host races that run the course right next to barbed wire fences. Some of the NICA races my kids participated in were like that. We were just waiting for them to wad themselves up in that rusted web of pain. Oh fuck! Long live Bowser😁

  12. I've only had one encounter with barbed wire. As a teen growing up in Akron, OH, we used to regularly sneak into concerts at Blossom Music Center. The place was surrounded by forest, and it was a simple matter of being willing to crawl through a ravine, select an opening into the venue, and quickly mingle into the crowd. Then one year they decided to erect a barbed wire fence around the entire perimeter. Determined not to be denied an opportunity to see Sha Na Na, we attempted to scale the fence. My buddies cleared it and dashed in, but I got hung up in the barbed wire at the top of the fence. As the cops rushed towards me, I leapt down to the ground, ripping a huge gash across my inner arm. Adding insult to injury, the cops maced me before recognizing the extent of my injury. Not sure what was worse, getting maced or seeing my parents faces when they picked me up at the Emergency Room after getting stitched up. Don't fence me out!

  13. I frequently ride trail that is lined with barbed wire fence along the property line. I don't understand why some trail builders seem so hell bent on using every single inch of land by running the trail so close to the fence. I wouldn't mind having a little less mileage of trail to be able to ride 10 feet away from the fence line. It's one of my hot buttons so I'm using your barbed wire fence story as a platform to voice my concerns. Thanks, and I hope your puncture heals up quickly.
