  1. Riding this weekend with my my friend and he went OTB on used his wrist to slow himself down.... After a few hours in the Avery Ranch Urgent Care a small break is confirmed.
  2. I almost posted the same article earlier today. Seems like this issue is very divided.
  3. https://www.facebook.com/groups/502198521393903/permalink/762474252032994/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v TLDR, because of potential construction and permitting the SN race series with be relocated near COTA. Hopefully will return to SN in the future.
  4. This is all I could find: https://www.cedarparktexas.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Lakeline-Park-56

  6. There is a sweet 18" Fuji on FB marketplace right now, 26" wheels, priced to sell (not mine)
  7. Not my design, but I don't think that I could get the fit much better. Printed this last week to help my OCD cable routing. https://www.printables.com/model/296318-bike-brake-cable-to-shift-cable-clip-flat-front

  9. Mine were 90% "healthy" live oaks. 10% dead from the 2021 Snopocalypse. I say "healthy" because none of our trees weren't under stress from recovery from 2021 and Drought 2022.
  10. All a matter of perspective. I came from a land where we only had ~140 days of sunshine. On the plus side, there's <7 days of 90°+ riding but 225 days of grey/rain at 45°. At least you can ride in the rain there. After moving, I spent my first summer hear acclimating as much as possible. Mostly because I was still in PNW mode: "Cram all your fun into the 2.5 months of summer weather" when in reality it should have been "Spend 9 months enjoying most days outside and 3 months of lake/pool/night rides in the summer" Do I love those 100+ days of 95°-105° riding? No, but also sorta learned to enjoy them. Can I take advantage of those days in addition to the plethora of remaining ridable days, heck yes. But also, don't be like me and move here, it sucks, too hot/cold, too right/left, too dry/ humid, too friendly/toxic, too expensive/cheap... choose whatever keeps you out. 😉
  11. Yeah our neighborhood is noticeably worse from 2021. Unsure if it is because they still are weak/ not fully recovered or if last time they were so cold they were literally frozen and this time they spongy... We've been lucky so far. 1 of our minor trees lost a 1/3 of all limbs and 2 of our major trees have lost minor limbs. Looking down the street seems every 3rd house has ~1/2 a tree down.
  12. Man, these have been completely of my Radar but I've been wanting to explore that area for awhile! Is there a recommended route/ sequence to take?
  13. Peddlers is like that too. I like to night ride it in the summer because if I ever have an issue just head south and you'll hit the parking lot. The Pump Track section or the "Roller Coaster part" as my kids call it can be easily accessed and repeated without doing the whole trail again. If you go from the BCRT (paved main trail) to the Parmer cross over section, from under the north bound Parmer bridge you can get right into it. Then you can exit a few different sections easily and rinse and repeat. It's really only the middle 1/3 of the trail. The next step up would be doing the entire East Side.
  14. SN is a great XC system with a few features to keep it interesting. I've been hesitant to bring my 9yo because it's a pretty large area and her stamina is still low, otherwise with a few walkable parts it's fairly beginner friendly, as long as you don't get lost.
  15. +1 My 9yo has been riding it for 2-3 years now and loves it, My 6yo is still warming up to it... I will say, a capable bike is a good idea. My oldest didn't really start to ask to go on rides with me until she got her 24" wheeled bike with front fork and gears. Her old 20" was pretty bumpy, even on peddlers. Gearing down the single speed helped a lot so did running really low tire pressure.
  16. Selling my Dad's Drill Press for him. Great condition, runs smooth. If I didn't already have a slightly larger one I'd keep this one. Posted on FB for $125 but I'd rather it go to a good home 😉 so $100 for someone on the forum. It's an 8" which means it has a 4" throat, 5 speeds (620-3100RPM), all pretty standard stuff.
  17. Y'all made me get a mini PhD in Stem/ Bar Height. After reading multiple cross referencing articles and finding a fantastic little Stem Height Calculator I am just as effectively confused as before. I will default to my original position, change is bad, its too short for me.
  18. Unfortunately, the steerer is too short for me. GLWTS.
  19. Interested but I need to check my Steerer Length.
  20. Thanks for the suggestions. Y'all are right, I should have said "budget friendly" chamois, as all I was finding was no name ones and $90. I like the look of the Zoic and Club Rides.
  21. So I'd like to pick up some inexpensive Chamois for use under standard running shorts for daily exercise rides, preferably some with Gel as opposed to Foam. Any suggestions?
