  1. Riders will buy used E-bikes and will need aftermarket support. Just like the current bike market. All it takes is a demand, which there inevitably will be, and the aftermarket will create the product. Seeing these new developments come out is encouraging. My point on Fezzari is I can now buy an E-bike frame with powertrain and swap all my other components over off my regular bikes. That's a win and will hopefully catch on with other brands, making owning an ebike more of a possibility to a lot more riders that want one. With professional Enduro on its way out, and E-enduro taking over there will be a surge of development, at least for a short time until people don't tune in to watch, or show up to the races. You can thank the UCI for that.
  2. No. I worked in operations management for the nations largest used car dealer for a decade. Dealt with production capacity and quality control.
  3. I think my point is, it's good someone is starting to address the need for aftermarket support with e-bikes. Fezzari is now selling frame/motor only options and hopefully others will follow suit. It has to start somewhere. https://fezzari.com/pages/build?bike=timp Lastly. As someone whos worked in the auto industry for 30+ years, I can say that the Germans are far from killing it when it comes to quality.
  4. Hit the nail on the head. The greenwashing and virtue signaling these days makes me want to vomit. Overconsumption is the main issue and altering that would hurt our consumer based economy. Shit isn't gonna change in our kids or grandkids lifetimes. Pessimistic old man rant off. On a positive note, there's a little good news on the Ebike front: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/intra-drives-combined-motor-and-gearbox-fits-bikes-designed-for-shimano-ep8.html
  5. Austin will eventually drive anyone insane.
  6. Curious. Do the trail signs (markers) warn against riding when wet? I couldnt see in video. They most likely arent local and beyond erosion, have no clue how miserable it is to ride in CTX when its muddy. ***Edit: IG looks like he's from Waco. Confirmed dipshit***
  7. He might also be living rent free in you head 😁
  8. Yeah it's nuts. The difference in opinion between kerr and bruni is something else.
  9. Hopefully this will provide a push for a new series sans the UCI. pretty interesting listen if you have the time https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/year-later-world-cup-downhill-racing-better
  10. Their shuttle SL is an awesome bike and would be my first pick if we hit the lotto. 🤣
  11. This could be fun. Thanks! Will have to check it out the next time in CTX
  12. This exactly^ Nano and small neighborhood breweries will survive the impending storm. The ones that are smart have basically built a brewery version of Cheers. The mid sized ones, trying to distribute, that need a constant stream of cheap loans will drown as small fish in a big AMBEV pond. Also seems every other brewery that tried to operate in the beer DMZ that is metric, has failed. That area is certain death. As far as Oskar blues goes. There's no love lost. Giant facility and taproom that offer the same mediocre beers you could buy at HEB. Yawn Heart goes out to the employees that showed up to locked doors. Had that happen to me more than once.
  13. Finally got out for a ride yesterday and felt like i was back in Virginia. Almost 500ft of climbing in 1 mile to get to the main connector. Views of El Paso, Juarez and New Mexico were worth it though.
  14. Not necessarily. If your recipe is dialed, it really doesn't hurt to let it sit. I prefer it. All my experience is at a two barrel brewery though, so I'm sure it's different when mass distribution is a priority.
  15. I picked mine up from Kelly's liquor in Las Cruces. Had a bunch of Oktoberfest beers this year and the La Cumbre has been the only one that wasn't full blown meh.
  16. Resurrecting this thread. Sunrise has some digging going on now. Looks like next opener should be fun😎 https://www.mtbr.com/threads/my-summer-at-sunrise-bike-park.1225025/page-2#post-16065678
  17. I'd imagine hotels will be pricey. Have you looked into them? You can stay in Fayetteville (much nicer) and just drive 20 minutes or head east towards Eureka. That little town was on our list when we lived in ATX but never made it. There's a cool old hotel there and some killer bike park riding. Weather should be perfect. We did our last ozark trip in feb 2020 while raining and it was still rideable. https://www.americasmosthauntedhotel.com/ https://www.oztrails.com/trail-locations/lake-leatherwood/ Ponca is a short drive too. Was around $20 for all day shuttle and people were super cool. https://www.buffaloriver.com/biking/ponca-downhill-mtb-trail/
  18. Track is mint. Was hero dirt on qualifying. Might dry a bit more for some dust on race day. Fog in am but it burns off by practice. Otherwise, perfect weather and trees are changing colors. MSA next weekend will be interesting to say the least. The introduction of discovery etc has changed the vibe and structure of the race a bit, but it's still pretty good. Lots of opinions on next season.
  19. Barton creek greenbelt, in July. Moved to ATX from NM and after riding at high elevation for 18mos, I thought I'd be a hero pedaling along at a lowly 600ft. I was wrong.
