  1. Fortunately I haven't been injured, but with all the humidity I've been riding my gravel bike everyday for the last 30days doing 20miles a day. The fitness level is night and day. Good luck to all of you injured riders and keep in mind the only thing you're missing right now is HEAT AND HUMIDITY.
  2. If you've got a gravel or road bike doing some light spinning on a hike and bike might help you get there a little quicker.
  3. Saw these guys open for Les Claypool. Really good. Along the same genre.
  4. I paid $110 for my dropper when I bought it so another $70 for a good lever was well worth it. When It dies I'll buy another and attach it to the Wolftooth lever.
  5. I have a Brand X on both of my bikes. The one on my FS has been two years now with no issues at all. The only thing I've done is put a Wolftooth remote onto it. I recently rode a rental with a Bikeyoke dropper and was not impressed. The lever was a bit on the cheap side for such a pricey dropper it also had quite a bit of stiction and was slower than my Brand X at returning to height.
  6. Oh it's been much longer than that🤣
  7. I have a pair of Pearl Izumi X Alp Summits that are really comfortable that I use for my gravel bike. At $140 direct from Pearl Izumi not too bad on price. They also have a nice grippy Vibram sole on them for the occasional hike a bike.😉 https://www.pearlizumi.com/US/en/shop/men/cycling-shoes/mountain/mens_x-alp_summit/p/15101809
  8. You know how you can tell someone rides a single speed...they'll tell you😂
  9. Between the extra long leashes and people with full headphones on even navigating the hike and bike at Brushy can be a real challenge. Oh and lets not forget the middle/high school track and field teams that literally take up the whole pathway and don't move or when they do move it's right in front of you. And by the way "GET OFF MY LAWN YOU KIDS"!
  10. I've had good luck with them. Late response been goon for ten days.
  11. If these are shoes and pedals that you have been using without any issues and now have issues it could be a long term overuse/fit issue that is now just showing itself. Like what Throet said try using some flats and see if the problem recedes if so then you know it's most likely shoes. Also shoes will start to break down over time and need to be replaced. I had a pair of road shoes that I had a similar issue with they were fine until one day I started getting hot spots on the ball of my foot, turns out I drove the cleat bolts up through the foot bed of the shoe and these were not cheap shoes $300 Time carbon shoes.
  12. Sounds like we need a speak easy door somewhere on the trail😝
  13. You don’t realize how much work your ankle does to keep you balanced when walking. When you’re riding your ankle doesn’t rotate like when you’re walking.
  14. Go to Voler.com. I’ve used their shorts for years road biking. Look for specials you get some pretty good deals.
  15. Im always cautiously aware when bombing either direction there. I’ve had a couple couple close calls there. You always need to be ready to brake.
  16. OK I'll see your Dirty Love and raise you a Jewish Princess😀
  17. I was riding east on the HB trail around 9:05 when I saw the mule.
  18. I saw one of the utility mules taking a bike out of the trail wonder of it's the same incident? I saw it by the picnic x entrance/bailout.
  19. Due to crappy humid weather this has been my go to bike for the last 13 days. Decided to do a 30 rides in 30 days challenge. 19.1 miles per day currently at mile 247 as of today.
  20. I haven't ridden that in a long time, probably since they built the subdivision up on top. When I first started riding there it was almost always dry. I used to climb up it on my bike and that was actually more fun than going down it. The wet started when they started building up top and it's been wet ever since. I think some of it may be runoff from people watering their yards. I have slid on my ass getting soaked a few times while walking the dogs out there. People are unbelievable "let me take this beautiful work of nature and fuck it all up with some stupid handholds so my entitled ass can get up it". Thousand of years for erosion to create that and some idiot fucks it up in a matter of minutes. Stupidity and entitlement make me want to get off this rock ASAP! I was totally blown away by how amazing it was the first time I was ever up there, to be able to stand in something like that really lets you know how insignificant we really are. Pics included.
  21. The newer Shimano brakes are not without there own issues. Wandering bite point and pumping up for braking.
  22. The Aeffect cranks have a plastic spacer with a red line around it. It is orientation specific. Check to make sure that the spacer is installed correctly. The spacer has a flat side and a collared side the collared side goes towards the bottom bracket the flat side goes toward the crank arm.
