  1. Currently I have SRAM brakes on my bike. I assumed I would need new Shimano rotors? Am I wrong?
  2. I want to upgrade my brakes too. Your blog post looks very helpful. Can I ask where you bought them from and how much? I was checking this out on eBay but the price looks too good to be true, what do you think?
  3. I love this forum because everyone is so nice and helpful. I should probably google half of the shit that I ask on here, but I love the wisdom and experience you all have. Hopefully you like answering the questions too!
  4. I like this approach. Is it possible that the original posters damage looks way worse than it actually is? What's the harm in just riding it as is? Is it a safety concern or something?
  5. I didn't realize it was that easy! I haven't bought anything yet but I'm still looking around at hard tails.
  6. If I buy a bike online and then take it to a local shop to be set up, will the shop be mad that I did not buy local?
  7. Did I read correctly that the bike just fell over into a rock and caused this? Yikes. I am afraid of carbon because so many rocks kick themselves up and hit my frame as I ride. This post makes me even more skeptical. Am I overreacting?
  8. I’ll take ya up on that! Will message you soon. I did some quick math. Strava says I have 900 miles on my bike. I usually ride 13 miles at a time over around 1.5 hours. 900 / 13 is 69 rides. 69 rides times 1.5 hours is 104 hours. That would mean in theory I should have already serviced my suspension twice. That’d be like $400!? Id rather ride them until they fall apart and then buy new ones.
  9. I'm trying to overcome this obstacle too. I just can't go fast enough to get up it.
  10. I prefer to ride it from West to East, or in other words starting from the bailout climb. I keep up more momentum in this direction, but I do run in to a lot of people going the "normal" way and I always hope I don't piss them off.
  11. TrailLabs looks cool thanks for sharing! I need to buy a new bike before I get this one serviced so that I can keep riding. Haha. I almost went crazy waiting 5~ days for a wheel build recently.
  12. I do wipe them off after every ride but I haven't lubed the seals at all.
  13. Up front is a Rockshox Revelation. Rear is a Rockshox Deluxe. Both are entry level I believe. I've put 800~ miles on them so far and they are starting to just feel lame and boring instead of buttery smooth like I remember them. Maybe it's all in my head though. Questions: Should I have these shocks serviced? Roughly how much will it cost me? What happens if I don't service them as often as suggested? Who in town does it best, cheapest, and quickest?
  14. I’m a software developer by day and pretty familiar with Python. I may be able to help!
  15. I'd also be interested if starting from Red Horn! Early on the weekend works best for me.
  16. Not yet. He responded to my initial “is this still available” then I expressed being very interested and asked for more photos. Haven’t heard back from him yet unfortunately.
  17. I just noticed the bars are different for https://offerup.co/rkekfBdn8X those are two piece but mine were 4 piece Not ruling it out yet i found my serial number. I’m going to look pretty funny squinting at serial numbers on bikes I check out. all sellers will find that very suspicious. Ah well.
  18. Thanks for the advice. Im going to contact the guy to take a look at it. Any advice for how to do that? Maybe just act interested and not say too much?
  19. This one is missing a scratch that I'd recognize unless they covered it up. Hmmm.
  20. Thanks for sharing the link but that one was for sale from before mine was grabbed.
  21. That bike was posted before it happened. Thanks for the tip any way! I've been keeping an eye on a saved search for "sunday bmx" on Craiglist.
  22. I listed it on bikeindex.org -- also watching craigslist thanks for any help!
