  1. Off-leash dogs are prohibited in Brushy Creek. There are signs stating such at various kiosks.
  2. 10-4. What if I already hired security to patrol the area? Okay, it was a pan handler I hired, but same difference.
  3. I'm curious too. Do I need to actually setup a real game cam or did my sign work?
  4. Haha nah Scott, I ended up getting off Facebook, then got back on FB to post about the Dave's Ditch Drama, then deactivated my account again. Changing roles at IBM and needed to disconnect from FB.
  5. Ha! I removed it. We live in an incredibly sensitive world, so I'll hold off on the noose 😉 I can see the news headline now...
  6. I just removed the rope. Not wanting to be liable for some jackass getting hurt. How could I get this approved through the city/ trail gods?
  7. Good to know. I’ll take that trash down so I don’t get sued. With that being said, the man-made feature statement would also be applicable to all wooden features out in place for mtn biking, what happens in those cases?
  8. I went out this morning and added a sign plus a rope to provide assistance up. I’m hoping this mitigates any further damage to the area or placement of holds. If a trail steward feels this is a major hazard then feel free to remove or discuss with me and we can come up with an alternative. Also, if you read the sign, there really isn’t a game camera put up, but they don’t know that!
  9. I have a cordless drill that I can use a brush wheel attachment on to clean up the area. May try that tomorrow night. The silicone stuff he used comes up easily but that epoxy is going to be a pain.
  10. Just got back from checking out Dave’s Ditch. The guy came back and used epoxy this time to affix the holds. I took them off but the epoxy will be very difficult to remove. Kat and I are headed to Home Depot now to get a rope to sling on the side for this jackass to use and I’ll be out there tomorrow morning putting up signs.
  11. No. Just slide down like everyone else has been doing for years. Freakin babies. I love how people feel the need to modify things to make them easier for more people. See my rock climbing example where someone bolted a hold to a route to make it easier. If you don’t have the skill to do something then don’t do it. Gotta love dumbing down things for the common denominator. You could try to bolt chains along the side via ferrata style, but I’m not sure I’d trust the limestone there since it’s so damn chalky.
  12. I’ve seen similar before at a crag where some idiot added in a handhold to lower the climbs grade. My concern here is that he or she will come back with either a chisel to carve out foot holds or with a drill to bolt in climbing holds.
  13. Wow. Must have happened late late on Sunday or Monday. I did a 10 mile run out there on Sunday around 6PM and slid my butt down those drops. When do you plan to get out there? Any idea how to do this without damaging the already soft limestone? Game cam would be a good idea here. I’d be afraid the jackass tries it again or decides to carve out the rock to make footholds.
  14. Trails are good to go!!! Just rode Deception, Picnic and Mulligan. Headed to Peddlers now. Update - Peddlers Pass is g2g! Get some
  15. Rain gauge near 1/4 Notch shows ~0.6”. Ground is very soft now. It’s doubtful trails will be g2g by tomorrow afternoon, but I’ll recheck later.
  16. Did you ride both the West and East side? Let me know and I’ll update the feed. Thanks for the report btw
  17. Trails trails morning are very soft due to the down pour we received late yesterday. I check Deception, Picnic and Peddlers. Decent amount of standing water remains, muddy low spots and lots of tire caking. Also noted a lot of damage from riders yesterday, so that’s cool.
  18. Just checked out Deception, it’s good to go with some tackiness on the east entrance. Picnic and Mulligan are good to go. Typical low spots that aren’t fully dry. Based on those trails’ condition, Rim, Snow White, Gnargasm and others should be g2g. Didn’t have time to check out Peddlers but if the sign is up it’s still closed. If it’s down I’d still use caution/common sense.
  19. Yea, no problem. Remind me, which nursing home are you located?
  20. Sorry guys, I post on the twitter feed and Facebook page almost daily, so typically I don’t make my way here. Trails were very soft and not ready this afternoon. Tomorrow morning I’ll be heading out to check trail progress. Report will be posted before 7AM. I suspect things will mostly be g2g given the sun and temps today.
  21. Based on the amount of rain I’d recommend another day. I’ll be at COTA tonight so unfortunately can’t verify, but if you go use caution.
  22. Trails are in good shape. Haven’t checked Peddlers Pass, but 1/4 Notch, DD, Picnic, Etc are g2g.
