  1. I was wonder what the deal was with this. I love the fly by feature, and use it on almost every ride. Usually just to learn new routes and add ons to my rides. I noticed mine disabled about 2-3 weeks ago, went ahead and enabled it, and now I see almost nobody on my fly bys.
  2. I stand by my suck my balls post.
  3. Like hammering 2 pieces of rebar through the log and into the ground, making sure they’re flush.
  4. 2 buddies from AZ and I meet up every couple years in Moab. Next summer we’re planning on this with Fruita. Can’t wait.
  5. Food update: pulling to wrap at 160 and making another drink
  6. I did hit the entire church trails jump line and the small drop many months back.
  7. Kentucky mules while smoking a 8lb Boston Butt on this nice Sunday.
  8. Those tires look nice and plump. What size are they?
  9. That Tacoma has the 3.5L V6 as well as the factory towing package. Believe it was rated for 6,600 or 6,800lbs. Trailer with equipment was pegged at 5,500lbs almost on the dot. I was 40 miles east of Ft Stockton going 60mph on I 10 at about 5am. Came over a standard low profile overpass that had a good bump at the end. Coming off the bump I blew out the drivers side front tire on the trailer, which I immediately felt and cut the cruise off. Watching my mirrors and my speed drop the trailer was crazy off balance and started to sway as I gently braked (didn’t think locking them up was a good idea that this point). Ended up getting sideways somewhere between 30 and 40mph. Both trailer and truck going driver side first. Trailer sheered both wheels off that side and the hitch pin sheered off from the truck at some point. Allowing the truck to roll over the roof and stopping in the passenger side. I believe the safety chains are what stopped the truck from rolling more. To this day I believe I acted to the best of my ability and would have the same actions if in that situation again now.
  10. From someone who flipped a truck towing a trailer that was almost at the max towing capacity, be careful. IMO it is not about what your vehicle can tow going 40mph on a nice sunshine day out to pedernales. It is about what your vehicle can handle when you have a blowout, or you catch a 50mph crosswind crossing NW Texas, or you’re coming down a 10% grade for 6 miles and you’re burning up your brakes even though you’re hitting 4K rpms in 4th gear. I’ve been handling long haul trucks my whole life and had my CDL for 8 years (I’m only 32). When shit hits the fan in a passenger vehicle with something hanging off the back that you kind of shouldn’t be pulling, it’s a different ball game. May 25, 2017. My little wiener dog and I walked away without a scratch after kicking out the windshield.
  11. This is the guy, I think his name is Jeremy, who flips bikes on Craigslist for a living. He’s a PoS. Uses the same ad for every bike on there.
  12. Staunton state park yesterday. The Aspens are doing what Aspens are made to do.
  13. My body is ready to see what this is, and I moved away from Austin 2 months ago.
  14. Love my element bolt. I caught it last year on a Black Friday deal (maybe it was cyber Monday, I forget). It’s been sounds for many mile and a few crashes. Good battery, love the customization and it’s pretty accurate. I think I got it for $175 after some rebate and a discount, and I would do that again tomorrow if I had to.
  15. Big fan of salsa here (3 of their bikes currently in the garage), but I really struggle with their prices for the spec in their mtb range. 6k for a GX Eagle build Blackthorn?? Jesus tap dancing christ. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, in their adventure/gravel bike range I think they offer some of the best bang for the buck bikes in the entire industry. Just my $0.02
  16. I had a SS Gary fisher triton roadie a long time ago while living in the flatlands of Lafayette Louisiana. Fun bike, but I’m not sure I’m a real SS rider deep down in my heart.
  17. Have you looked at the Salsa Stormchaser? I see you want a SS. Can’t speak to the Stormchaser itself, but it’s basically the same geo as the journeyman and I love that bike. Love it in both 650 and 700, but if I had to pick 1, it would be 650.
  18. Yesterday a buddy and I rode segments 3, 2, and 1 of the Colorado trail. Right around 40 miles, 3.6k climbing, over 7k descending. Long, hard day in the saddle, but one of the best days I’ve had on a bike.
  19. Flight in Loveland CO after wedding cake tasting. Good day. Graham Cracker Porter back at home:
  20. Tough handful of days packing, driving, and unpacking with little to no help, but we are 95% complete. Large pour of Buffalo Trace on our new balcony in the 80127. First ride tomorrow. Not sure which bike to ride or how I will fare. My legs and lungs are shot right now. LETS GOOOO.
  21. Jefferson County Colorado. Pretty much as far south west of the greater Denver area as the front range will allow. Fiancé finishes grad school in 2 weeks and got a new job there, and my company has a huge office there and gave us some money to move. We talked about doing this the last couple years and there’s no better time than now. I honestly think we’ll end up back in central Texas before I give her a baby in a few years, but we’re going have some fun for now.
  22. Had a few Dos Equis then swung by Taqueria Guadalajara for takeout fajitas and a “small” frozen margarita with my friends (pictured). My friends and I are moving (with their mother) in 5 days. We are jazzed up about living in the mountains. We will miss Taqueria Guadalajara though.
