  1. Is the Brushy Creek Twitter/X page still being updated? The last post I see is from May 29th. I have noticed X generally acting differently over the last few months so maybe I need to join/login to see updates.
  2. Nice. I dig that place. Some good beers and the stromboli is mighty tasty. Parking is the only real negative.
  3. The only really serious property damage I have seen:
  4. Yeah, my Monterrey Oak in front took a major beating last time and has lost another good percentage of the branches. It already looked pretty sad, probably have to let it go after this.
  5. It is already looking worse than last time in my hood. Branches were falling left and right between about 6 and 10, it seems to have stabilized somewhat. At least 2 neighbors had sizable branches fall on their cars, probably just big scratches I think, the leafy parts hit first to break the falls. No major damage that I can see yet. Fingers crossed. Hopefully not too much trail damage. Some areas don't seem too bad.
  6. Nice! I gather you are working there? You guys just in VA for the short term?
  7. Pretty sure Eric (Rugger) had a rant against these log piles. He may be disassembling them.
  8. It's refreshing the few times you see rule #1
  9. It is private property, hence the lack of info. Tread lightly if at all.
  10. Thanks John. Yeah, where I was going with that was it would be great if there was someone intimately knowledgeable about the trail conditions out there 😉. Are we to assume it is always open and just let our personal tolerance for riding mud and our best guess be our guide? I guess my impression is with so much new trail it may not be baked in very well and needs drying time like most places. Seems like more clay in the remaining terrain than some of the sandier stuff in the back of the original trail system. Any thoughts/tips are appreciated @Ridenfool!!
  11. Given today's rain, what do you estimate the drying time to be? The AustinBike trail conditions page rarely seems to change for Rocky Hill.
  12. It totally got me too. It is on a fast and flowy trail so you come up on it quickly. Amazing how your heart can start racing in a split second.
  13. It has been awhile but I enjoyed racing and riding out there back in the day. I was thinking of hitting it soon (and the nearby State Park trails) but unfortunately it got pretty much wiped out by fire in July. 😞 Thurs July 21. On Monday July 18, a raging wildfire swept over the Solavaca destroying everything in its path. 90% destroy the trees and plants. Our house, barn and all in its path reduced to rubble. The Solavaca Trails are likely done for. Pause and remember. It blessed us all. https://solavaca.com/
  14. Spotted this guy near the east end of the BCRT on Tuesday morning. It didn't look like he could have made the turn onto Hairy Man Rd even if he hadn't grounded it. Came back about 90 minutes later and they were gone, If I had time to kill I might've grabbed a beer or 2 and watched. I'm sure the driver wanted to kick my butt for taking pics is why I didn't get closer.
  15. Be careful what you chase in Trinidad. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-sex-change-capital-of-the-us/
  16. The thought of riding down that on that makes my body hurt.
  17. Gorgeous scenery. Never been a Remco fan but I guess I better come to terms with it because that boy is incredibly strong and he is just getting started.
  18. Spotted this prickly little fella at Pace Bend today.
  19. Good to go. Was bone dry when I started, got a few quick showers between around 2 and 4 but still good to go as of now.
