  1. I rode at 2:30 today, it was 101 deg and 40% humidity. The low humidity makes it bearable as long as you keep moving. The key is to start acclimating yourself early in the year. BTW, LCRA hydromet has a good temp -humidity graph that I check this time of year.
  2. Are the trails going to be rideable this weekend?
  3. He should just get on his knees in front of t , get some tweezers in each hand and go to town. "Oh Donald you're the best, gobble gobble. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. I tried it today from 360 back to the pool. Water was flowing about a foot deep where the old bridge was and the creek crossing was about half covered but passable. The trail was rideable but soft. I turned around at about a half mile in and called it a day.
  5. Yeah right, I wish I knew. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. The incredible thing is he still lives within feet of where that picture was taken. The road is now asphalt and the barn in the back is gone. Thompson Station,TN. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. My daddy in 1953 with a bike he won at the 5 and dime store. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for all the great input everyone. Our next step will be getting some quality women's cycling shorts and getting the sit bone seat measurement thingy done. Cody,I understood where you were coming from, it's a very delicate situation trying to encourage your wife to start exercising. With any new activity a person will have aches and pains at first. Deciphering weather it's a newby issue or equipment issue is the key. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. I'm looking for a better more comfy bike saddle for wife. I reluctantly bought her the big ole wide jel-filled saddle she wanted knowing that wasn't the right answer. We went out Saturday for a 6+ mile ride on an easy trail with lots of breaks. She had a good time but the next day realized the squishy seat, well, left a lot to be desired. What do you ladies recommend? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. I've had great success with the bacon strips, 4 so far. The orange sealant wouldn't stop the leak at all. As far as carrying an extra tube, more times than not, by the time I've carried the extra tube for hundreds of miles it inevitably winds up having a hole from my seat bag or the threads on the valve stem have rubbed a hole in it. I can imagine in the future only using a bit of sealant to seat a new tire and then only using the strips for punctures. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. So, Do y'all see the bacon strip ever eliminating the need for a liquid sealant. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. In eleven years of riding I've seen 2 coral snakes on the GB, ran over a rattler on the southie trails, 5 or 6 rat snakes, and just a week ago i stopped under the manchaca bridge to wizz and looked down and one foot was almost on top of a hognose. Also, a cotton mouth at the crossing by the chain on the GB.
  13. Oh the memories of those pedals destroying my shins back in the day. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. Nice ride yesterday. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. I'm looking for another route around the swamp west of La Crosse Avenue. Any suggestions? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  16. There has also been an ATV in the area that has displaced alot of rocks especially up the fortuna climb. I'm not saying someone didn't intentionally move that rock but I could imagine it getting pulled off the ledge then someone not in the know (newby) putting it like it is. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. I noticed that the day it was moved. The CCCA(I think that's the group name) guys we're working near there that day. They do some goofy rock work sometimes. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. Mine are 7 or 8 years old and the original batteries still work somewhat. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  19. So do any of you have a preferred place to get replacement batteries for your bike lights? I'm looking for new batteries for my magicshine lights. Thanks Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  22. Wonder how many snakes I've missed seeing by seconds in the 10 yrs I've been riding. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  23. I think the mid-day sun probably brought him out. The game warden told me he's seen them in Feb laying in the sun during the day. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  24. Yesterday between escarpment and la crosse I ran over this bad boy. It was 4:30pm and he was stretched across the trail. He coiled up when I walked back to kill him. Luckily my buddy was a better rock chunker than I was. It was close to the big boulders along that trail. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  25. So, besides wiping the stanchions down and cleaning around the dust seals, do you use any kind of spray after cleaning the loose dirt off? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
