  1. It's my personal opinion that every one of those bond packages should have a $ per taxpayer value next to it on the ballot machine. That way, people might start to figure out that it's not free money!
  2. I shall look forward to the hike in property tax to pay for them all.
  3. I don't live that far away, and it dumped pretty good overnight Sat. It wouldn't surprise me if it was more than a half-inch.
  4. Sounds like we need to go urban this week. I can offer up a Northwest Hills / Mt Bonnell ride, ending in my pub.
  5. Any eyes on Walnut over the weekend? Last week was pretty muddy, wonder if it's improved any.
  6. Although Reimers was open to mountain biking today, I would avoid this trail system for a good couple of days. It's wet in many places, with deep ruts, and riding will only damage it further. In addition, the extensive rainfall has allowed grassland features to flow over the trail - meaning that you can't see where you are going.

    2018 EB

Actually, that's what I meant - whether you'd take the 'official' crossings, or use the chain, etc. Post up a report!

    2018 EB

Rather curious - do you plan to ride the entire Green Belt, including creek crossings? No short cuts?
  9. Typically you leave your ID with them and take off on a short ride. They get pissed if you go ride for two hours, although I remember a fellow at Flat Rock doing just that a while back.

Palo Duro Canyon - October 2018

Wow - do you ride with your saddle tilted up like that?
  11. Oh, no, my dear fellow. It has been modified since you drunkenly forgot it - it'll be presented to you at the (dead) R&I!
  12. As dead as your Yeti colster will be, if you don't show up to re-claim it.

    2018 EB

It may be that January is the better time for this event - that way the Season of Pain would start with the Dragon Slayer and Das Hugel, and end in a glorious EB money shot. We shall see!

    2018 EB

EBers, more conferring has taken place, and all parties are in agreement that we should move the EB into the new year, and we have selected Saturday, January 12 as the new date. Factors which came into play: - Barton Creek is currently unsafe to cross, so we would have been forced to skip the Green Belt. - More rain is forecast this week. - Thumper needs work, and this gives the crew a chance to to schedule work days and give the old girl some lovin. - This weekend would have been self-supported - a full volunteer crew is available on Jan 12. - There are no races scheduled on Jan 12. We take this re-scheduling seriously, and plan to put on a solid event in January. Meanwhile we will be posting a full schedule of pre-rides (Thumper, Green Belt, etc) starting in about two weeks (weather permitting). It's going to take Cody a couple of weeks to get Thumper rideable, and you'll see work-and-ride posts from him. If any of you are putting on your own pre-rides, feel free to share them so that others can enjoy the benefit - thanks! Finally, to the 11 of you who might be disappointed (per the poll), we hope you're able to get some riding in this weekend, and that you won't be too upset with the re-scheduling. From Pinthouse - er, EB HQ - that's all for now! Stay tuned for ride calls!
  15. The missus and I are in. I'll be bringing a LOT of burgers, and the Shit Beer cooler, which will be full. It's been a while - hope I remember everyone's names.
  16. Indeed. You can contact em, or I can contact em. Seems silly that we both do it.
  17. It's still there, but since the main gates are generally open, there's really a solid argument to open the south - at least during daylight hours. @Chardog - you gonna give them a holler?
  18. True, but the gate off Burnet Road is usually open, and I've not seen anyone in the 'guard hut' recently - well, not at weekends.
  19. Is this the climb to the office park? If so, I'd go ahead and trim and mark - thanks. Too many people will get lost if we send them up S16 -- and we don't have a GPS of that course.
  20. Hey, @Albert - is it possible to insert movies so they look like a movie, and not just a link? Also, how do you delete your post?
  21. Opening the south gate at Pickle during the weekend would be a damn good start.
