  1. Pretty sure Endurarace is hosting a TMBRA race out there.
  2. Didn't they just have some world cup action up that way? Pretty sure I saw a selfie of Emily Batty after a nasty looking spill.
  3. Rather a sweeping generalization. My built-in nav works just great, and I use it on every road trip.
  4. Aren't you near Phil's World? Just go hang out at the trailhead with a cooler of beer, some weed, and a wireless hotspot!
  5. Lake Atalanta is fun, fairly climby with a great downhill run in it, and I recall quite a good brewery, as well as a bike shop with beer on tap.
  6. Wash your mouth out, sir - this is an Austin forum.
  7. “Also, a keg (or kegs?) have been donated by a rider-owned local brewery-in-transition with leftover stock.” Got it - I’ll bring some decent beer.
  8. I couldn't find the damn thing - where is it, exactly?
  9. Looks to be a 50mm. Yours if you want it.
  10. Don't sell yourself short - George Dawkins keeps up with the group at age 80-something on his e-bike, and I sure I hope I'm doing the same in 30 years!
  11. I'm late to the party on this one, and is often the case, I purchased a higher-end option - SRAM AXS wireless dropper for my singlespeed. Not cheap, but boy, is it precise and so nice not to have cabling and zip ties all over the place.
  12. Realized I hadn’t given an update in a while. Been in Salida the last couple of weeks, some lovely rides up on the Crest. Put on a big Indian food cookout at Absolute Bikes this evening - nice to run into Hill Abell! We just booked a rental in Colorado Springs for next week - doing our damndest to stay away from the furnace ….
  13. What about ol George Dawkins? He rides a power-assisted Specialized several days a week, and he’ll tell you he probably wouldn’t be out there if it wasn’t for the pedal assist.
  14. We have a friend in Houston - in fact, we helped sponsor his daughter on the annual Austin to Alaska UT ride - who is Swiss, and did his mandatory national service in the 1970s as a part of the two-wheeled division ... whatever it is called. He recently found one of those Swiss Army singlespeeds in great shape, and brought it over to the US. Here's a recent pic.
  15. Meanwhile ... 50 or so degrees cooler, in a land far away ...
  16. Doing something similar, but in a different direction. Currently in Angel Fire for a few days, then Ouray/Telluride, and eventually Salida. Taking advantage of many of the XC trails and downhill parks along the way. Hopefully no bears!
  17. Just finished 'shredding' some downhill runs there myself!
  18. Speaking of air fryers -- I'll be up there with him for some of that time 🙂
  19. That age old question rears its head once again ... "is Walnut dry?"
  20. It was probably really humid in the green belt, even if you didn't think so. I have been limiting my riding to places like Suburban Ninja and Brushy, and hillsides along the 360 and 620 corridors - a little bit of a breeze and some elevation really seem to make a difference. Still try and hit SATN once a week, too.
  21. A Cold War Porter! Isn't that like ... having a chunk of the Berlin Wall?
