  1. I bet it looked like this but with a different bike.
  2. I started riding in college up in Lubbock. The trails there actually don't suck as much as you would think for flat-ass west Texas, but they are much different than here. Short rolling hills and not much of any tech. My first ride here was BCGB probably around 2005. I borrowed my friend's Rockhopper. It was also my first experience with click-in pedals. (Still hate egg-beaters!) Needless to say, I came home with some new bruises. BUT, I did buy some SPDs and my first full suspension bike soon after. It was the kick in the ass that took me from total dumbass noob to get serious about riding.
  3. 100% in the shade and downhill both ways.
  4. Yeah, and good for them putting a new trail system in. I think we all agree, more trail is always better. I'm really not trying to shit on Borger. (The oil companies have already done that.)
  5. This is a satellite image of Borger. That grey/white area to the right is the town. The black cloud on the left is a carbon black plant. My former boss grew up there and said if the wind was coming in from the west, his mom couldn't hang laundry out to dry or it would turn black. https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/chemical/carblack.htm#:~:text=The most likely effect of,lodge deep in their lungs.
  6. Nice. I just caught up on the garage thread and was wondering where you ended up.
  7. Photos didn't show up for me, but your setup sounds awesome. Storage would be one of my biggest hurdles. In the backyard, shorter than the fence would be my best option too.
  8. Can we see some pics? You might say I'm RV curious, but not quite ready to commit to a new lifestyle.
  9. Boom Box is one of my favorites right now. In the same double IPA vein, this one is very good.
  10. Hit that last year. A grind of a climb up Cairn Me Up, but doing Jagged Axe was worth it.
  11. I got covid for the first time this past week, too.
  12. Sorry, no. I got a bit discouraged and lost track of it. I contacted a few people from the Parks dept. back then and got the same answers about limited access and nesting seasons and nature preserves and no new trails. They said something about another possible land purchase that would be very focused on mountain biking. https://www.wimberleyview.com/news/pursuit-mount-edith-park-purchase-revived
  13. I think it's moving along with all the speed and agility that government is known for. I found this article from April 2022 saying the purchase will be finalized the following week.
  14. It takes me a couple just to loosen up. I find that I start to hit my stride 3-5 beers in. When I start bringing the beer onto the green with me, that's usually a sign that my game is about to decline.
  15. Tallboys suck for golf. The bouncing golf cart makes a beer flat after 1 hole. That's why they sell 18 packs.

Framing and decking are done. Now just need to finish up with the railing and then maybe I'll have some time to ride my bike again.
  17. They are also easier to shotgun if they are a little warmer.
  18. If there is a problem ball tanning can't fix, I haven't found it yet.

No, it's a pretty faded Texas Tech flag.

I forgot to update this. The pool was done a few months ago. Current DIY project is building a deck around the backside of the pool.
  21. It seems like there should be more of a discount for buying beer in a refillable keg.
