  1. Turning an old 26" into a city / Town Lake bike. Bought a bike with heavy, knobby trail tires. Looking for something more appropriate. Ideal tires: 1.5" - 2.1" slicks or XC tires with small or worn knobs folding bead and/or tubeless compatible preferred Let me know what you got, what you're asking, and where you're at. Thanks!
  2. Bought a Rekon 2.8 today. May buy another. My heart says "yes". Wallet says "no." Anyone have experience with a 2.6 Ardent Race? A happy medium between a Rekon and Ikon? Or more XC than Ikon?
  3. How does the Rekon 2.8 compare to the Nic 2.8 in terms of width, height and overall volume? I've heard the Rekon might be a little smaller. True? False? What rim size are you running on the 2.6?
  4. Yeah, I once spent a slow 5 miles on a Nevergo before tearing it off. Maybe I should consider the Ikon... more grip than I give it credit for?
  5. Yeah, I loved the Nic on my 29er which is why I went that direction on the 27.5+ but think the knobs might have gotten spaced out too far. There are big gaps between the shoulder knobs - especially on the 3.0. Might feel more confident leaning the bike if the shoulder knobs were more consistent.
  6. Looking for plus tire recommendations... I've got two wheelsets (front / rear on rim width): Nobby Nic 3.0 on i40 / Rocket Ron 2.8 on i35 Nobby Nic 3.0 on i29 / Rocket Ron 2.6 on i29 Don't have any experience with any other plus tires. Will probably get some new tires this season. Mostly ride Walnut, Emma and Brushy. Thinking or Rekon / Rekon but open to other ideas. DHF / Rekon might be overkill / too heavy / too slow for around here. Rekon / Ikon look like it might not be grippy enough. Hoping someone with more plus tire experience could chime in with some advice.
