  1. This is a good thing. I had been expecting crashes based on the very loose areas but now with the bit of rain it should tighten up the trail nicely!
  2. It was at mile 10.6 of the race loop when starting from the registration shack. It felt like it would have shortcut the trail. It was after a g-out.
  3. Rocky Hill is fun again! It is going to be a brutal 3 laps. Feels like 90% of the climbing is on the first 4 miles. Litter box has aged well. I feel like now rocky hill has regained its soul. a couple of notes: 1. New section of corkscrew needs better marking. Branches are laid out after the switch back and with the leaves the new way is not clear. 2. Beginning of lemonade several trees down but not on the trail. However, one of them is precariously resting on another very thin tree. With this wind today I wouldn’t be surprised if more come down and this one goes all the way down. 3. In black track there’s a split that is not marked. I went left to do the extra length but wasn’t sure if that’s the correct way.
  4. BTW, start loops are usually done to string out the riders. The Hilltop race did a great job. The Palo Duro did not. basically 100 yards on the road downhill with a loose turn then right sharp turn into deep rutted (like horse trails) single track. It was a mess. All the endurance races at Rocky Hill I've done use the loop around the loop around the pond, and some even do a LeMans start.
  5. After I posted here I saw Paul's Strava lap for the 2023 Marathon. Looks like they linked to it on the TMBRA site. Thanks!! https://www.strava.com/activities/10103143737
  6. Can anyone find the patent filing? I could not find it under Will Montague, Guerrilla Gravity or Revved.
  7. Do you know what's going to be the course for the marathon and the EE?
  8. Yeah I'm still in the lab, no ride for me today.
  9. Do we bother bringing anything tonight or do we end up at ABW?
  10. Holy crap! I rode Hilltop yesterday. I hadn't driven that way in a long time. You can't throw a rock and not hit a brewery, winery, or distillery on the way to Fredericksburg!
  11. And when you head into the live trees, it makes you feel more like riding into a forest and not just riding in a bunch of scrub. Some of those ash junipers are tall!
  12. Are the spindle and new hole location on the same plane or do the cranks flare out.
  13. https://www.texasmonthly.com/travel/texas-new-station-mountain-bike-park/
  14. Seems like 9/16" regular and reverse thread tap set are a normal bike shop thing, the best thing may be to drill the holes and take them to a bike shop for threading. Old BSS was reasonable for machining type work (facing, reaming, chasing).
  15. What a deal! That looks like a hotrock 24". My son had one. It weighed in at 30+ lbs which for a little person is too heavy. When he moved up to his brother's 26" (also heavy) I was able to upgrade that with parts from my old BMC and we got the weight down to ~25lbs IIRC.
  16. I have a cheap HF tap and die set and it includes a thread pitch gauge. It's one of the most used tools in my garage.
  17. They make aftermarket 37mm seat post clamps (and is indeed what I ordered 2 of) but nobody stocks them locally. I normally also order spare derraileur hangers which I carry in my camelback for rides like the Dragonslayer or long rides on the BCGB. Thanks for the tip on the shock bolt. I'll order a couple of those too.
