  1. I have the GCN+ app on mobile, laptop and smart TV. Zero issues watching on any of them.
  2. Lee Compton with ARR is the trail steward that I have worked with in the past. We spoke this weekend and there are plans to get the work done soon.
  3. Looped the lake yesterday - at least 4 big trees down and looks like they have been there for a while based on how burned in the reroutes are. A couple are in really dangerous spots, one at head level in the middle of a south side downhill. In addition there’s miles of overgrowth on the south and north near Tejas. Ruined a pair of socks and jersey just from all the little burrs and at times you can’t even tell where the trail is if there was a lot of traffic out there I’d be afraid of head on collisions given how tall it all is. I’ve ridden here for years and it’s amazing to see how blown out and eroded a lot of spots are getting. But it’s still an epic adventure and so thankful to have this option where I live!
  4. GCN+ is the platform for US viewing. I miss Rob Warner but aside from that my experience with the new telecasts has been just fine.
  5. Opening up new trail on Southwestern Campus as part of our new agreement with them to add several miles of singletrack adjacent to the already established Katy Crossing loop in San Gabriel Park. Tools provided but feel free to bring your own. 9 am start both days at Katy Trailhead (low water bridge on east side of San Gabriel Park). We will shuttle people to the dig location so please arrive on time! Follow us on Instagram @gtxtrails for more info and frequent updates. Huge shoutout to Tim Schmidt for the kickass graphic - check him out as well. Solid dude and extremely talented!
  6. Give Katy Crossing a try. It’s on the east side of San Gabriel park. Very easy two mile loop. Take my young daughter there often and see lots of other kids out there. Even on push bikes. Wilco Park is just north of 1431 bw 35 and Parmer. Lots of mellow options there too.
  7. Katy Crossing in San Gabriel park is ideal for the kids. Low traffic and very mellow. Walnut, Wilco and Ninja are other good options on the north side.
  8. There’s enough to string a solid ride together. Several pockets of trails connected by the amazing paved paths in town. We are actually finishing another new segment in the morning. Follow our progress on Instagram @gtxtrails or DM me here for more details. Trailforks has Katy and Gotham but we haven’t added Chataqua yet. There’s an interactive link to our trails from insta or our website gtxtrails.org. Other than that we don’t put a lot out there. All that being said, we will have over twenty miles of new trail in town once we are done. Feel free to help as we are a small group and just do it all in our limited free time.
  9. This is going to be such a sweet addition to what has recently been built in town!
  10. This workday is on property we own. The trails are standalone right now but will eventually meander towards blue hole to the north and towards Garey Park in the other direction. Going to make for some really cool options once complete!
  11. Dig Day - 10 am - trailhead west of Tractor Supply in Georgetown. Use the Tractor Supply lot or drive down on the west side of it to our entrance. GTF owns this property and we will be focused on finishing a new section of trail, general clean up and, if time allows, scouting new trails. All are welcome, just show up, sign the waiver and have some fun! Bring tools and water or use ours, we will have plenty. This is part of our approved masterplan to add 20+ miles of singletrack in GTX, we can use the help and look forward to having some fun. For more info follow our instagram page @gtxtrails or message me here.
  12. Jack Brooks - south of town. Short loop but trails are super fun. Maybe 6 miles in total but it's twisty and has some "tech" sections due to roots. I'd go there over Memorial or AntHills based on having ridden them all before. Huntsville SP is fun too. Lots of pine trees, roots and sand. Fun but nothing super challenging. The park is pretty too.
  13. Public dig day - Sunday February 20th, 2022 10 am - San Gabriel Park - easternmost low water crossing Georgetown Trails Foundation is a newly formed non-profit with a mission to create more natural surface trails all over GTX. We have city approval for a master plan that will add 25+ miles of singletrack and this project is one of the first on our plate. Once completed it will be a solid loop with amazing river views, nice flowy lines and options for fun at all levels. If you have tools, feel free to bring them. We will also have plenty to loan out (Thanks ARR!). Water, Gatorade and tacos will be provided. Follow us on Instagram for updates @gtxtrails or peruse our website at https://georgetowntrails.org GTF dig day.heic
  14. Rode Overlook to Russell last weekend and trails were fine but the Johnson grass and general growth are quite high. Makes it more challenging as you can’t see around corners for line choices, etc but basically it’s still a rocky beast and fun as hell. Went out there again this morning but too wet to hit the dirt. If it stays dry this week all will be well for the long weekend.
  15. Selling a like new Saris Superclamp - 4 bike - 2 inch hitch Used twice. Have another two bike rack that I use regularly so letting this one go. https://www.saris.com/product/superclamp-ex-4 Posted on Craigslist as well https://austin.craigslist.org/bop/d/georgetown-saris-superclamp-4-bike-like/7184955656.html
  16. I’m selling a 4 bike rack. Got it new. Used twice. 2 inch hitch. PM for details if interested. Most importantly enjoy the adventure. Sounds like a fun one!
  17. Georgetown Cyclewerx usually has at least one Specialized you can demo. Talk with Paul at the shop, they have sold quite a few and he’s let me ride the demo models multiple times. Great shop and pretty close to some single track to test it on.
  18. I'm doing the 50 mile option as well and will be running Ikons front and rear.
  19. Just cleared the 1st mile from cedar breaks. Tough going with just a handsaw but progress was made. There's still a lot of trees down going to Crockett Garden past the 1 mile point.
