  1. Early Spring color on trails we don’t mention
  2. Down under in Coogee Australia. Nothing better than the first ride with your 2 1/2 yr old grandson.
  3. Seems a little ironic that people are complaining about weather in Texas on a gorgeous, sunny, 74 degree day in early February.
  4. About 5 years ago I built 1.5 miles of hiking trail behind our house on the hillside above Twin Creeks golf course. Great way to chill out after work, stretch the legs, and pick up a ton of expensive golf balls. It took 40-60 hours over several months with loppers and a hand saw to complete. After snowpocalype, it took another 20 hours to reclaim maybe a mile of the original trail. Can’t even imagine what it looks like today. Probably time to admit defeat. Mother Nature 1 Docscotty 0
  5. IMG_5479.MOV Too much snow for a random bike pic.
  6. A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege to ride for over 2 hours with a group of wounded warriors on Veterans Day. Some of them were on ebikes along with their 76 year old former commander in chief. It was wonderful to share the trail with them. At 62, I’m not there yet, but no doubt that day will come. If technology allows me to pursue an athletic passion that has brought so much joy for over 30 years, then sign me up for one more decade. We don’t stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing. I intend to keep playing and will promise to keep peddling after I blow past you on that technical climb.
  7. Went up there with Sluggo and a few others in May. Tons of rain the day before so had to avoid the clay stuff. Rode a new Oz trail called Hand Cut Hollow that was more chunky limestone than everything else around. Some people were freaking on the technical descents but we felt right at home. Rocks were wet but not slick and we had that place all to ourselves. Something different.
  8. Another great reason to spend more time riding this machine in the summer.
  9. Sounds like you’ve done your research. Lots of good peeps in our community willing to show you around. Austinbike is one of them. If you want to rack up some quick vertical one day, consider adding Canyonlands/Mount Lakeway to your list. MTB Project gives you an idea, but there are way more miles out there that don’t show up on the app. Hope the weather cooperates and you can enjoy the awesome resources we have at our disposal.
  10. Got jacked up pretty good in a head-on collision at WC several years ago. One of the worst things that ever happened to me on a trail. Some dickweed wearing headphones was blasting down a descent leading to the creek crossing as I was climbing out. Never saw him till too late. Here’s a few suggestions to avoid that sort of violence. 1. Get a trail bell and ring that bitch on blind spots. 2. Go off the grid on weekends if you know what I mean. 3. Either lose the earbuds or turn that shit way down. 4. Save your KOM douchebaggery for a day when very few people are riding. If you want to race then sack up and compete head to head. I hope no one has to experience what happened to me that day. Still think about it on the rare occasion I ride that trail. Bottom line.....be safe and yield every chance you get.
  11. Pop a couple of norcos, get out that credit card and get one of these. Literally saved my ass after I broke my thumb at Reveille Peak a few years ago.
  12. Cowabunga bitches!! Pineapple Express in the Makawao Forest on Maui. 1000 vertical feet of perfectly sculpted berms, sick ass table tops, and a few heart-stopping wood feature to transition drops. Great way to take a day off from the ocean.
  13. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. Still remember the day I rode Brushy with Andrew several years ago. He was fearless then but wow!!.....the progression is amazing. Made my day.
