tomreece
My Sunday Forecaster was stolen from Muir Lake Apartments in Cedar Park. I kept it out front in al alcove thinking it was safe since this is a nicer area with a gate. Learned my lesson. At least it wasn’t my mountain bike. Its black, like new, with pegs on the left. Here’s a picture. Edited June 29, 2019 by tomreece
texbiker
List it on BikeIndex.org. Someone may see it.
bestbike85
I’m real close to this area. I’ll keep a look out.
tomreece
I listed it on bikeindex.org -- also watching craigslist thanks for any help!
mack_turtle
I think there was a stolen bike list for Austin on Facebook too. File a police report and check with pawn shops.
JRA
https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/d/austin-2018-sunday-forecaster/6920417897.html Grab your serial number and go check it out. I'd be happy to go check it out with you. Edited July 5, 2019 by JRA
Cafeend
If I am not mistaken this guy posted this one before the theft. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

I've been keeping an eye on a saved search for "sunday bmx" on Craiglist.

AustinBike
Are the tires the same? If someone is selling a bike for $300 it is unlikely that they would switch out the tires.
JRA
Tires are the same. Both pics show the valves lined up with emblems on the tire, pegs come right off, scratches on black bikes are easily fixed with a sharpie or nail polish. If it were my bike in question I'd be going to check it out. Edited July 7, 2019 by JRA
tomreece
Thanks for the advice. Im going to contact the guy to take a look at it. Any advice for how to do that? Maybe just act interested and not say too much?
JRA
Write down you're serial number and take it with you. If it matches, knock him the fuck out and get your bike back. Listen to some Pantera on your way there if you need to. Edited July 7, 2019 by JRA

tomreece
I just noticed the bars are different for https://offerup.co/rkekfBdn8X those are two piece but mine were 4 piece Not ruling it out yet i found my serial number. I’m going to look pretty funny squinting at serial numbers on bikes I check out. all sellers will find that very suspicious. Ah well.
AustinBike
If the guy didn't steal the bike he won't mind you looking at the serial #. If he starts acting sketchy, don't get get into it physically with him. Just say "there's an online database of stolen bikes and I am not interested in buying anything that the cops can take from me. If it is hot, I'M the one out the money and the bike. If it's clean we have a deal and I'll swing back tomorrow to get it." You've got his cell#, right? tomreece
Not yet. He responded to my initial “is this still available” then I expressed being very interested and asked for more photos. Haven’t heard back from him yet unfortunately.
