Raising the standard of living in China would weaken communist rule and result in a lowered risk for an armed conflict. Most global trade is good, balancing out the trade worldwide has positive benefits. If you believe that a country can maintain power while the rest of the world stands still, do a little research on the French Revolution. Also, for fun, check out the BOM on the American made bronco;) Basically we are in a global economy and should treat it accordingly.
