not that my opinion matters, but won't this just drive people into fewer, more densely populated spaces? there's no opportunity to spread out if everything is closed. people can't seem to manage the self-control it takes to stay home either.

Older teens, 20 and 30 somethings, the demographic most likely to be asymptomatic spreaders,  are prone to congregating like puffins during nesting season.

If parks and public spaces are left open, you'll end up with a mob scene everywhere.  There's no perfect option, but buttoning everything up tight seems like the least bad option.

Also, if anybody cares, face shields offer a lot of protection.  Some Experts Say Face Shields Better Than Masks for Coronavirus Protection

Spittle air can flow around a shield. Thanks but no thanks.

“I don't wear the shield alone,” says Anne Mary Orr, a dentist in private practice in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. “At work, the whole point of the shield is to keep particulate matter off the mask. The N95 mask I wear under it helps filter breathing the virus. Our greatest risk is to inhale an aerosol at work, more so than focusing on the droplets.”
