As an Artist I need my fix. Describe some trails in poem form and let's guess where you are talking about. Go.

broken, fractured
once a staple of trail life
like a clock spinning on its axis, it reverses itself, as hands move
now only the hardy venture it's shady twists,
hoping to avoid any singularly oxidized carbon

Update:view in landscape on mobile or on a monitor. Mobile portrait jacks with the formatting

Poisoned by the allure, I head recklessly towards the hills,

My mind playing fascinating games in anticipation of thrills,

No thoughts of Araneae, no need for chills,

But then comes the bite, and all that's left are spills.

Now here's a little story I've got to tell

About a bad trail you know so well

It started way back in 1990

With rocks, trails, trees and me

I had a little bike named Rockhopper

Just me and my hopper and a bottle of water

Shredding across the land roosting up sand

TMBRA's  posse on my tail 'cause I'm in the lead

One lonely Cat 3 I be

All out front without nobody

The sun is beating down on my Specialized hat

The air is gettin' hot the water cans are empty

Lookin' for an oasis I ran into a guy

His name is Fat Chuck., I said, "Howdy" he said, "Hi"

Come and listen to my story about a cat named Seth
A poor mountain biker, almost sold his  bike for meth,
And then one day he was shootin down a trail,
And up through the brush appeared a wooden tail

A whale tail that is, wooden kicker, texas gnar

Well the next thing you know seths the trail steward
The mountain bikers said "Seth build some trail downward"
Said "the fall lines are where the trails ought to be"
So they loaded up the tools and built the pussy

Some good stuff in here!  Refreshingly funny and creative.  Big props to @RonSurly and @crazyt  And Ron, I think I've finally put together who you are now....the location and fondness for RHR gave it away.  I think?

Later,
CJB

Yep. That is the man. I finally pinged him one day thinking it had to be him.

His tribute to RHR was awesome!  DIdn't realize he was a man of so many talents.  Maybe after the EB, when/if my fitness is back up and the weather cools off (and Covid gets better?!?!), we revive some of the Feliz Navi-Gravel routes.

Later,
CJB
