I have an old school trainer that I keep my old 26" full suspension bike on. It's ok if I have a good audiobook, which I usually do. Before we got our fatbikes in NY, that's what I did for 2 winters everyday. Sometimes need to just be outside. The fatbiking and year round Austin biking really spoiled me. I found a nice Divergent at BSS.

ive been using a wahoo kickr. It lets you train using power levels (like output 220w for 1 hour) and has the added ability to not get hit by a car. You can find them used for 600-700 and you can either throw your bike on it or put any cheap spare bike on it.
