ATXZJ
Picked up a set of the 8140s from REI size M/L on sale for $59.95 with the intention of putting them on my wife's 2nd bike. Shimano makes two sizes in these pedals, but REI only had L in stock so i figured I'd throw them on her bike and go from there. After comparing them to my go to pedal (DMR vaults) I could see they are a lot bigger than expected, and too wide for her shoe. Stuck them on my bike and so far they feel pretty good. They are bulky so probably wouldn't be the best for places like deception ETC where clearance is a premium, but would be great for the bike park etc. Especially at that price. https://www.rei.com/product/161408/shimano-pd-m8140-deore-xt-flat-pedals Comparison photos of same 5 ten shoe in mens 11.5 & 6.5.
mack_turtle
I really like Shimano's axle design, but the body of those pedals just seemed too fat for my liking. if they make them just a bit thinner, I would use the smaller ones. thanks for the review.

rockshins
Was looking at those, also love Shimano axles ease of service. Can’t tell from the pics, but are the pins replaced on the opposite side?

Has both it's benefits and drawbacks https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review-shimano-xt-flat-pedals.html
