How are y'all storing your bike racks? I have a single 1UP and it folds neatly and stores anywhere. However, as my kids bikes have grown, gone are the days when I can wedge them in back of the SUV. I recently picked up a Yakima 2x tray rack and it folds flat but is still huge. I was thinking of a pulley system to the ceiling or hanging it on the wall. I've got a decent bike storage worked out but this rack is always in the way now.

I have a non-pivoting one sitting on my workbench.  I don't have a wall free to mount it.  Was going to mount it to a fencepost outside, but since then, I modified my 2 bike rack into a 1 bike rack that stays on the car.  It's yours if you want it.

Yeah, I'll take it if you don't need it. I'll PM you.

I have a corner in my garage where I keep my recycle bin.  Used a 2x4 with basic bike hooks in it as a holder.  The hooks mainly keep the rack from falling over, rather than hold it off the ground.  The receiver part of the rack wraps around behind the recycle bin (when in the garage).

Life pro tip: get a remote control power outlet for about $15 on Amazon. Plug the fan into that. I leave the remote on my workbench, when it gets too hot I can kick the can on without having to break away from what I am doing. Also helps because my fan is mounted near the ceiling, pointing down.

I’m a big fan of utilizing my overhead space (the little that I have). I hang scrap wood, tires, and yes, my Thule T2 classic from the ceiling. I just make sure that I use lag screws driven in to pre-drilled locations in the joists.

Made a first go at an angled mount for my new wheel holder tool. This makes tubeless maintenance WAY easier. Pleased with the angle/usability but it's not quite "shop grade" enough for me. Plus my kids like to paint wood while hanging out with me in the garage and if they find out I used their rainbow block...

Nice! I'm just at the start of my new garage adventure as well. I decided to go with some slatwall panels instead of pegboard this time. Hopefully they'll be delivered today.

Nice upgrade man! That three car's got me droolin'.

Made a little progress with the bikes today and also realized how spoiled I had gotten with our old Austin house. Way, way more space than this one. Plus, they put a Gas Heater with a friggin pilot light in a garage that cars from the 1960s were parked in. How this house is still standing is beyond me. The damn thing is also built into the wall and is keeping me from adding the fourth, and last bike. Not going to get into removing that thing right now, so gonna have to get creative.

Nice progress. One of my slatwalls came in so that and organizing and drinking is pretty much my whole day.

We also had a 3 car in Rochester and it's super nice for a bike shop. Although in Rochester we parked 2 cars in there. We don't bother with that nonsense south of the Mason-Dixon though. So this whole thing is just a bike and garden shop. And we need the garden space because @Jessica's mini-farm in the back half is about to get underway!20230407_171815.thumb.jpg.9ca039ca61be34e0e49bca0163938fb5.jpg

Switching efforts from exterior renovations back to the garage. Hoping to finally park my truck inside by mid week.

Previous owner saw fit to put two giant parking blocks in the garage. Making it impossible to open the closet door more that 12-16". These were some heavy bastards to load by myself, by hand😐

Also, finally realized they have attempted to make the garage fully climate controlled. We shall see.....

The slatwall garage set up is working out nicely.

Kudos to @FJsnoozer for the idea about hiding the bike bags in the garage front dead space. And excellent for storing not-quite-dead-yet back-up used tires.

And the RV garage gets fat bike storage duty.

About the only things left to do is to put a significant compressor in the massive attic, and then add both 50' air and power reels someplace. Oh, and the entire house internal black shutter window treatments will look baller here.
