Kyle
I remember seeing sprinkler heads on southie trails as well. Must be a somewhat common phenomenon.
gdog-1992
For the SATN trails, many of those sprinklers are for draining retention ponds. Probably similar for Brushy.
rugger
Likely freeze protection. Temp sensor might close master valve, open all other to let these low heads drain.
HoneyBadger
If anyone would like to help build on Friday, PM me for details. It will be with your while. Something similar to Randy's Elbow.

bestbike85
There is 1 storm cell hitting the area right now as I gear up for a morning ride. I suspect any of the dirt trails will eat this up quickly because it’s been so dry, but the rocky trails (1/4 and DD) will be a bit slick this morning. ETA: okay this is a huge fucking cell and it is dumping. I am pissed Mother Nature is going to make me have a roadie type ride. AustinBike
Yeah, we just lost power in central Austin. ETA says out of power for about 90 minutes.
TheX
We had a lot of rain (still sprinkling) this morning in PF. Did not expect it.
Kobra Kai MTB Guy
We really needed the rain. Couldn't have done it on a weekday though?!
bestbike85
Report is in. Not as much rain as my home, but still a lot of rain. PP chain is up. This is from going around the entrance triangle.
GreenMTBrider
Yea that rain was a surprise. Ground should soak it up quickly but I’m not going to hold my breath that trails will be good to go this afternoon. I plan to head out around 1 to check. SuperSlow
I was gonna ride at 7am, heard the thunder and slept in, then was hoping to ride this afternoon...looks like a fathers day ride instead...
SuperSlow
And it just started raining again near brushy just now...not looking good at all.
GreenMTBrider
Welp, this sucks. I was hopeful earlier this morning that if the shower was brief we’d be g2g this afternoon. As I type this it’s still raining here at Brushy. Hitting the trails this afternoon isn’t going to happen. Guess I’ll try out the Peloton my wife just got. I'm so envious of people that can go back to sleep. Once I'm up I'm up. Road ride today it is for me.

I did a roadie-ish ride through brushy with some suburban ninja to red horn then back home. ~17 miles and it rained every minutes of it. I’d be amazed if trails are good today. As in, you rode Suburban Ninja today when it was wet? It’s been raining here at Brushy since at least 6AM.

I got to red horn and still had brushy gravel stuck to my tires with near zero mud from SN.
GreenMTBrider
Brushy Update! Trails are drying quickly! Rim, 1/4 Notch are good to go with Picnic not too far behind. Snail is super soft due to the shade, advised to allow more time to dry. Peddlers is getting really close and should be good to go with more sun. Watch for spicy rocky/roots sections which remain slick. Thanks to Skyyhorn (Scott W) for the update!
crane
Deception this evening was fine at about 7. It should be in great shape in the morning.

Morealice
Trails are boobs right now. Rode today 5:30-8:30pm. HOT AF. I’d love to know the story behind this new sign on Deception East (aka quarter notch *gag) just above Dub Step
