Woah, did you see that on the trail today?

Now I’m over here wondering how gullible I am 🤔

Not on the trail, but I stole this from a facebook page for identifying snakes in Texas. This person posted this up asking if someone could come remove the snake today. This was in Round Rock...I'm still amazed at this

Hope you get a good turnout so the line can be opened. My broken body will try and show up.

I’m out at Satellite right now... on Deception/Double Down (puke) and it’s too wet here. This is usually my go to spot to see if a ride can be done. Was hoping for 2pm but I am picking up mud on the bottom of my flip flops. Blows. Still might just spin the mtb and practice wheelies on the bike n bike *fart noise...2nd thought I think it’s a few hours on the motorcycle.

GreenMTBrider and myself walked and trimmed back west half of quarter and then west side of DD. He had to go and I continued on. A girl and her dad told me there was 4 trees down on picnic and they moved one. It was about dark so I headed over
Guess what tree they moved?

Thats right. The one thats always moved. It was dark by then and I moved it back to the side but it is not in place.
Of course the other three down trees were the ones that have been "downed" for years.
Their hearts were in the right place though so wasn't mad.

I would say yes to riding tomorrow. 1/4 ,DD and Picnic and for sure Rim. Ditch was wet of course. No idea about Snail or PP

We have an official name for the new trail at Brushy Creek, "Bob Ross". It still needs some final tweaks before it opens. I think sometime within the next two weeks it should be ready. This trail will connect the end of Double Down to the Start of the Rim Trail. You can walk it and get a sneak peak.

Is this the one y'all are talking about going up? If so, it never even occurred to me to try... video or it didn't happen!

I made it over to brushy to play around on this today. Turns out it's more of a bump jump than I realized.

If you get the timing just right it feels so smooth:

Even if you don't, it's not that bad, but kills momentum:

Thanks for encouraging me to film this... I've never really done that before, it was cool to see what's really happening 👍

That's the one! You are a freak and make it look too easy, but yep...that is the one. I think I made it on my second try and only did it a handful of times after that.

We need to ride again, let's get Jesse and do a birthday ride this weekend.

Nice! Now you have me really itching to get back on a bike; this is going to be the first thing I do... or maybe I shouldn't... that's one of the reasons injuries never completely heal for me, lol.

Edit: BTW, I ran today, lots of riders out. I'd like to remind those with less experience, when you come up on someone going the opposite direction, whether on bike or foot, and there is room for both to safely pass, always move to *your* right... I had 2 different guys go to their left, the same direction I moved (my right), with near collisions. The first guy, I don't know why he did, it seemed like a bad judgement call on his part, but the 2nd guy was an obvious case of target fixation; I could see it in his face... which brings me to a related tangent point;  always look where you want to go, never where you don't want to go... whether it's a person, dog, big rock or a drop-off (understanding that for some of us, the latter 2 might be where you *want* to go). Remember: if you look at the dog poo, you will wear the dog poo.

Getting off work tomorrow early, anyone up for a afternoon ride?  I can’t promise speed with the amount of riding I have been doing but I am ok on the technical stuff . I could start between 1:30-3pm

I was planning on riding at 3pm today. Happy to spin with you.
