mack_turtle Posted July 15, 2021 Share Posted July 15, 2021 I lived in San Antonio and was just getting into mountain biking when they officially opened the trails along Salado and Leon Creeks. The paved paths around the city are great, and there's singletrack all over the place near those creeks. It might not be difficult to link together a massive route that circumnavigates the city with those. Before the first paved paths were built in Austin, I thought the 10' width was huge, when they need to be separated as you noted, or twice that width at least. I rode a paved rail trail in Atlanta near the old Sears headquarters. It was thronged on a weekend day with every kind of user -- bikes, strollers, dog walkers, families, runners, roller bladers.
