rockshins
I realize this is probably poor technique and bike sizing, but I noticed my shoes have a little tire rub on the toes after a ride. I am on SPD's and have the cleats jammed all the way back and this feels best to me. I am on a XL Honzo that is too small for me and I have size 14 clodhoppers so I am sure this is not helping. I could move the cleats a little forward but I like them there. Anyone else experience this? I haven't noticed it while riding. I am sure it is when going slow and turning with the pedal at the 3 o'clock position. Should I just learn to ride better or change the cleat position? csmceuen
Can you slide the cleat any further inboard to move your foot out since they also have a left right adjustment? You could also put a washer in there to move the pedal out a bit. I have done both due to heel rub. notyal
It's a little extreme, but you could always try adjusting your foot size. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_binding 2

What kind of washer do you use?

Taco Man
I know I have caught my toe/ end of shoe between a rock or ledge and the pedal once or twice and my pedals are more mid range in the allowable area.
olddbrider
Shorter crank arms? 26" tires?

Ridenfool
Glad to hear it wasn't Camel Toe overlap that led to tire contact.

mack_turtle
how tall are you? the Honzo is a looong frame already, so the XL probably fits like an XXXL. learn to ride with dropped heels.
rockshins
Just under 6'6". The honzo is big but I could use a longer toptube, it's a '13 honzo, not sure if they went bigger. Have to run the seatpost super high and the seat all the way back on the rails. Have been trying to ride with heels down but must get lazy. mack_turtle
you may not want to hear this, but you need a bike that fits you. riding a frame that's too small and doing weird stuff to make it fit is alike buying a pair of shoes that is a size too small and cutting a hole in the ends so your toes can stick out. talk to Seth about Guerrilla Gravity. csmceuen
You could get extra extreme and try these. https://goo.gl/ZmTguF

gotdurt
I never thought of using shoe size to determine frame size, but where front-center and size 14 shoes collide (literally), it sounds like it's more important than reach, in your case... personally I'd consider selling the frame in favor of one with a longer front/center; anything else is just a patch.
rockshins
Yeah I researched it more and it can only happen in extreme situations, must be flex in the fork and frame. Going for a new bike this winter, going to run some spacers in the meantime. Really shouldn't be happening, going to pay attention on the my next ride. csmceuen
Cut off your toes. I hear you don't really need them anyhow.
rockshins
I think if I saw off the big toe, I can fold that part of the shoe in and make it work, one less nail to clip
