  • June Bug changed the title to ARR's Cranksgiving is back! Saturday, Nov. 27 @ Reimers Ranch

Should have a route setup this Friday.  ARR Only got authorization to hold the event last week, so it is a rush to get things setup.  ARR tries to keep the distance between 8-10 miles for a lap.

Trail work stations will be setup on the course so that participants can learn about trial work and perform minor trail work to get extra raffle tickets.

The Flow trails are an option for those that want to ride them during their lap.  There will be a trail work station located on the Flow trails.  Completing the Flow trail work station will also result in an extra raffle ticket.

I'm not pat of ARR board (just a member) but wanted to chime in with my experience.  Cranksgiving in the past did not include all the trails, but there's nothing keeping you from adding the fun stuff if you get bored with the regular lap.   All in all it's a great experience for adults as well as kids and you get to learn about trail maintenance from the best.

More detailed explanation posted on facebook:

"Sadly, everyone, after a lot of deliberation and hope against hope, we've decided that the best move here is to cancel this year's Cranksgiving. It didn't rain much Thursday, as was predicted, and that would have been fine. But the % for Saturday has remained very steady at around 90%. Weather prediction isn't perfect, but barely more than 24 hours away from the event, it's probably pretty good at this point.

All is not lost!

We are putting together something in its place here after the first of the year. We have tons of awesome swag and we'll go a 'lite' Cranksgiving in the new year.

Hate having to do this...but we all agreed that it's the best move. Stay tuned for more about what we're putting together for January.

Refunds for those who registered and paid will be processed in the coming days. If you'd like to contribute your registration fee to ARR, that's most certainly welcome, so let me know if you'd like to do that. If I don't hear from you, we'll process your refund shortly."

Austin Ridge Riders' Reimer's Ranch Ride/Workday

Since we couldn't have Cranksgiving this year, we're doing a "lite" version. Same things will be happening (learning about trail work, lunch, riding, raffle) at this one.

Trail work from 10-12, ride from 12:30 to 3, then a late lunch and raffle. If you're not an ARR member, you're welcome to come. No charge for this event, but you will need to pay 5 dollars/person at the gate for the Ranch's land-use fee. Cash only!

The event notes and more details are listed on the Bike Reg page. If you're coming PLEASE REGISTER so we can plan for lunch...
