WLemke
Anyone got boots on the ground? Hard to tell on the radar if WC has gotten enough rain to rule out R&Iing today. edit: Hydromet is showing no recent rain Edited July 13, 2021 by WLemke
skinned elbows
Was just at the domain and it rained pretty heavy but for a short timeSent from my SM-A115AZ using Tapatalk
CBaron
I'm pretty close to WC and we have not had rain yet. The radar (from an hour ago) looked like something was coming. Don't think it ever hit here. -CJB
June Bug
We got a very brief shower south of the park maybe 45 minutes ago. Things still look a little unsettled but the big stuff now seems to be to the east.
WLemke
Just got to the nut. No sign of rain. We’ll see what happens…
Tree Magnet
Nut was dry and dirt was of the hero variety. It was actually quite cool for the ‘I’. Almost jacket weather if you can believe it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Barry
Too bad you weren't there earlier. My buddy James was handing out his freshly smoked pulled pork. It was a great, if very small "I."
AustinBike
I'll probably sneak in a quick lap in the morning because I have some I to handle in the afternoon tomorrow. Make up for the lost opportunity, although I did get an urban R&I last night.
JRIDER
What time is the first rollout today? Was hoping to start with the faster group to see how long I can hold on.
CBaron
Its not a 100% set time. It ebbs a bit from when everyone arrives and then collectively decides to roll. All that said, I usually try to arrive around 5:10-15 and see who begins to gather up. Quite often a few will roll up from an 'early lap' and its not uncommon to head out for the 'fast lap' around 5:25-30'ish. The "legends lap" comprised primarily of the old-guard R&I'rs usually has a pretty similar schedule. But can be a few minutes later because most are coming from work, and might be stuck in traffic a bit. But generally, I'd say the same thing for both groups. 5:15 arrive---5:30 head out. +/- minutes. YMMV Personally I'd love to see more people come out and join in. ITs always a fun time no matter which group you want to jump into. Bring a lawn chair and a cold 6pk Later, CJB

AustinBike
Anyone with eyes on the ground with respect to the R&I this evening?
Barry
The trails were right on the edge of rideable last night--with mixed reports. And we just got another 0.1" of rain on top of it. I'd say there's some chance it'll be okay, but perhaps not. Certainly it will not be good if we get more rain. But I'll report back if I get an update.
AustinBike
Sounds good. I think an urban ride might be a good strategy, leaving WC as the fall back plan if reports are good.
Barry
It's after 1PM and the sun and the wind have been useless all day for drying roads, much less trails. R&I is dead. Edited October 12, 2021 by Barry

Morealice
Are you guys always wheels down at 5:30pm? Is there a subset that rolls out later out of necessity? I work until 6pm and can be at the park to wrap up work and sign off, thus rolling at 6:05. What’s the situation? Looking to maybe be not so antisocial. 👀
Teamsloan
Come on with it! These days, people are starting out a bit earlier to avoid lights. But my group is consistently, always wheels down from anywhere between 5:30-6:ish depending on who in the group is showing up and when we all get there. 1. Show up whenever you can. 2. Look around awkwardly in the mulch island for riders. 3. Join and hang on! 4. Clean up. 5. Drink beverages and eat snacks 🙂
