TheX
We were out there doing trail work today, and it's muddy. People should NOT have been riding yet.

AustinBike
Depending on how my day is looking on Tuesday morning I may take a ride up there to scope things out.

Ridenfool
I've heard a rumor that AustinBike will inspect the trail tomorrow. But, it is just a rumor. Edited January 7, 2019 by Ridenfool
AustinBike
Out there right now. Bad news. Outer log loop has mud. Even in places that should be dry. Based on the fact that people worked hard after the rain I vote to not muck up their work. Oh, and the log loops on a 35cm tire are a bitch.

Of course people will say meh and decide to ride anyways because "it can't be that bad" and "I just need to ride!!!!!".
cxagent
Of course they can ride the big F'ing sidewalk. But history says they won't. And it becomes that bad for those who clean up the trail behind them.
Barry
Think I'll skip any R&I plans and look forward to a Thursday Oskar Blues ride at Walnut. It should be reasonable for one day on Thursday before Friday's downpour.

Yeah, I assumed that people would say that, here is an example:
Shinerider
Still too muddy?
AustinBike
We’re going urban from my place for a bit then over to taco flats for beer and tacos
Barry
Not going to make it, but Taco Flats is great. To anyone who enjoys a whisky sour and a peaty malt, I highly recommend their La Dosis. It is spectacular. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Tree Magnet
Yeah, I assumed that people would say that, here is an example:The hour of trail work spent fixing this douchbaggery could have been spent building a berm or removing poison ivy or even building in rollers and features into trails. Not to mention that the folks doing the trail work could have been riding instead of cleaning up after some ass hat. Ugh.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cxagent
Hiked much of Walnut Creek today installing sign posts. Most of it was ready to ride. But some sections were not. Windy, BMX and Church Climb were a mess. I doubt those will be ready to ride before the next (predicted) rain. Get your ride in while you can. Just be ready to bail on a trail that is still wet. If you are leaving tracks. Or if you tires are caked with mud - the trail is too wet. Turn around and ride somewhere else.
AustinBike
Might try to ride it this afternoon as there is rain coming tomorrow.
Dawn
Providing no new wet stuff before tomorrow afternoon, Lucie and I are going to meet at Oscar Blues at 4:30 and ride over to Walnut, ride the trail, then back to Oscar Blues for burgers and beer.
AustinBike
I would be in for that. Â Not expecting any wetness in the next 48 hours and the sun is out now. Windy and BMX should be off limits, the rest of the trail is probably in OK enough shape. Should things go south on the trails we could still hit the concrete trail out to Mopac just to spin the wheels and get some mileage.
AntonioGG
Rode the south side yesterday evening.  The fence line in Tangle of Trails is a bit soft, but not rutting and not sticking.  Everything else is good in Tangle.  The lower trails (i.e. closest to the creek) on the south side rom the main crossing are super wet, muddy, with puddles.
AntonioGG
Log loops are gtg. Â The report from my buddy is that all the hard work has paid off.

Church Hill (Hill of despair) is likely still a muddy mess as the water is seeping out of the ground and making most of the hill a soup.
