mack_turtle
Florida is a place where you can do anything if you're driving a truck or slinging a gun.
June Bug
Heart broken and feeling more than a little ill about this. Different circumstances, certainly, but I'm having flashbacks to the Tommy Ketterhagen murder -- I can't let myself call it a death -- and the minimal sentencing. And hitting someone from behind is NOT the same as not observing a 3-ft passing buffer.

A big shout-out to the judge from note buying into the lawyer's request for "shock" probation. Here's a post on CBSAustin.com confirming his sentence: Quote The man who initially avoided prison time for killing a Georgetown cyclist in a hit-and-run must now serve 10 years for violating his probation. Aaron Davison pleaded guilty last year to killing cyclist Tommy Ketterhagen back in January 2017. He was sentenced to two years in prison and ten years of probation. However, shortly after the sentencing he was released before ever spending time in prison because of the time he's already served in the county jail. But his probation was revoked earlier this year after a number of violations -- including buying alcohol, possessing the unprescribed drug Vyvanse, not finishing all community service hours and never going to a driver safety course. Davison's attorney, Rhett Braniff, said he had suggested "shock" probation at Thursday's hearing, which would have had Davison spending 180 days in prison then return to regular probation, but the judge sentenced him to 10 years.
