I've always run moto style as well due to riding motorcycles for thirty years.

I have a pair of sc hightower that is my main ride and a hardtail that's been around for a while.

Used as a backup bike for just over a year does have some scratches and pain chips, otherwise in good condition with forks and dropper being serviced last November. Has been and is sitting in the garage collecting dust. I ride it once or twice a month around the block a time or two and that's it.

Great poison ivy loves me.

I run them on one of my hightowers and like them better than my 29er but I do enjoy both but I am on the smaller end of the spectrum @2.6.

Lol, this made me smile. Thanks.Back on topic... WTF is this nonsense? We stopped blocking the B-line, yet that's not enough? My irritation has been renewed; every time I have to replace these rocks, I'm going to add more and build it bigger...
In other news. I surprised a runner in a spot where we couldn't see each other until it was too late. I had just come out of a descent and had started a short climb with some momentum, and he was coming down the hill around a bend; when he saw me he jumped, waving his hands with an animated look on his face, like a little girl that had seen a big spider... I laughed so hard I almost lost my balance...
Then I got a flat.

yeah I would not change it, I use about the same amount of travel on my forks and messed with the air pressure some only to leave too much travel unused or bottoming out too easy.

Related but a little different, I have on occasion broken or lost a few teeth on a couple of cassettes in the past and was wondering what causes this.

I had to stop by Peddlers in CP this AM for help with a project. I was blown away by the amount of work he has piling up. I counted over 30+ bikes in waiting. But super happy the shop was not dead
this sounds similar to my lbs that I usually go to, they are so backed up on bikes being serviced that they can not take any more at the moment and you have to set up a time to drop off your bike if work is needed. I'm personally happy that business is going well for them and hope it continues to do so.

Friday, was decent but a bit slippery on the rocky spots. I'll probably head back out on Monday and Thursday next week as they are closed weekends.

I see roadrunners quite often but don't ever recall seeing one in a tree.

Looks like good times.

I've only ridden with flats so they are all I know but I do have a set of oneup components flats that really hold shoes compared to others that I have tried.
-
I have no problem sharing the trails with runners and depending on the trail I am sometimes impressed that someone would want to run on those trails (I like really rocky loose trails and always wonder how runners don't turn their ankles). The only problem I have on occasion is someone wearing earbuds and not being able to hear my voice or bell when I come up behind them.

I've only had my hightower a little over a year but I have replaced the bearings twice and have an extra set at the house. After you put the request in it takes about a week to receive the bearings.

big Liverpool and tottenham fan here, grew with them both when I was a kid living in the UK so it's nice when I get a chance to watch a game.

Tuesday weather depending, I'll look at the ATX ride.

I appreciate it, have a good weekend. It's hard NOT to find good stuff starting at ATX Bikes. There is a little more technical stuff west of Escarpment (DiscGo DiscGo and No Walk in the Park), and even more technical stuff east of Mopac (Bowie Stonewall). Not miles of it though. SATN is mostly flowy fun, with short rock gardens and features interspersed here and there.
Post up here when you are thinking about riding. Lots of folks like to show the SATN off and would be happy to guide you.

Thank you, is there a preferred route from ATX bikes, or just simply explore and enjoy looking for the more technical areas to ride.If you start at the Hill of Life you will have a lot of Barton Creek Greenbelt to ride through to get to the SATN. The exit from BCGB is on 290 near Spec's. Not that there's anything wrong with that plan.
But if you just want to explore the SATN there are places within the network that would be better. ATX Bikes is pretty much the center of the SATN universe now. Dick Nichols park is another good starting place. Or Circle C Metro park by the disc golf course parking lot. Or the new parking lot at the elbow of Mopac and 45. Or on LaCrosse next to the Veloway.
By 7:30 traffic is starting to get bad. I would say it clears up a bit by 9:30. I'm sure others would have a more informed opinion about that.

looking to ride the SATN next week and coming up from san Antonio, is there a preferred place to start from-hill of life and route or direction to head towards to begin my exploration of the trail system? Also are weekday early mornings or late mornings going to have less traffic than later in the day?
Thanks

Curious if city park is open at the moment, would like to ride it tomorrow morning if it is.
