BUILDING SESSION ON PEDDLERS PASS - I'm holding a building session on Peddlers Pass at 9:00am this Saturday the 16th. It's time to build the re-routes now the sidewalk is finished, add a new berm, and do some spring cleaning. We will meet under Parmer Lane and slipt into groups from there. I would appreciate any help you can give.
You will need to explain how one slipt's and what it accomplishes in groups

And for everyone who cares about the route... I personally dont go around that sweet professionally looking built cedar log fence because the county made it and if a path gets beat in around it they will complain. The only thing they seem to care about in non Wilco territory is just the interface with the BCRT which is their property. So I try and keep that to a minimum to keep them happier.Yeah, I'm trying to be extra legit as a way of justifying being mildly un-legit when there isn't an option. Well you know my other option. But sometimes I just ride across the creek. It's super shallow and a rocky base now that they did all the work over there. While we are on the topic. What's the "right" way to get from Gnar/ Caddyshack back to the BCRT? I used to ride across the dry portion of the creek bed to the west/south side of the bridge but they fenced that. Now I hop over the fence. During warmer weather I might cross the creek but still...

If I were President I'd ban all dude canoesThat's bike bias. Two guys pedaling a dude canoe can be pure joy and really arouses the ladies. Don't hate, broham.

Gah I hope notWe don’t need to clear a tandem wide path do we?
Stoked that the community stepped up and gave back to the trails and the stewards that have given so much to all of us.

14 people showed up for this event. That's awesome. I think Brushy proper trails might be covered. But I know Honey Badger could use some additional help. I believe he is creating an overall wider corridor in Peddlers to create better lines of sight and continuity of flow throughout. Also it will allow for racers to have more opportunities to safely pass. I'm sure he will post up again.Won't be able to make it tonight, but if you post up a punch list of any remaining items, I can find time during the rest of the week to head out for some additional clean-up.

I'll make a few signs and get them out in problem areas. I knew about Puzzler. I'm not so concerned with small go arounds on some features on 1/4 Notch but cut throughs and all new paths are a concern anywhere. There is a cut through between Dub Step and Pre Plunge that I have repeatedly blocked but to no avail. There is also a by pass at Puzzler that goes around the trees with the rocks, only saw that one last time I rode, didn't get a chance to block it. There are a couple others, one after Loyd Bridges after the rock feature I think is called Bird Song? Where it steps down to the small downhill section before going back into the woods. I have also tried to block that one a couple of times with no success. People suck!

I have done this in the past if a few reblocks dont stop it. I may just do it now anyways.Maybe leave a note there asking the individual to not cut trail without involvement of trail stewards and that there's an official connector only 50 feet away?

Yes. I sometimes use the existing short cut over while traveling uphill from out of the ditch. I Never use it when traveling from Rim into the ditch. It all depends on if I'm running or if I just am not feeling it that day and been on a long ride already.I don't get it! Are people trying to bypass Dave's Glitch? That's one of my favorite spots.Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

It's the concrete workers getting revengeJust after the rollers on Peddlers Pass I'm building a new berm/line. The original line is still supposed to be open, someone keeps blocking it, please stop. I'll close it when the berm is finished.

Yup. I blocked that. There is a cut over just 30 ft or so beyond that. Use that one. Thanks. The one I went through (at least twice now) is right through the trees and is lined with rocks on both sides...Al
Maybe I need to make the official cut over more obvious . Next time I'm out ill give it a good work over.

Thanks. Double down is a black trail. Any dangerous obstacles there are already B lines to. People try and dumb down that trail a lot. Thanks for the pics in advanceI saw that the other day... it looked so official I thought it might be, lol.
There are a couple spots on double down that have had alternate lines cut (going around a couple technical choke points), I'll try and get pics/block them next time I'm out there, probably next week some time.

It may not be the same one. There already is one that I use all the time after that climb. It's just a short cut over in the open. This new one was just at the apex of the last climbing corner and they broke branches and lined the path with lots of little rocksI used this cut through yesterday and the last time I was out there as well... Didn't know it wasn't official, and it was handy yesterday after finishing that climb from Dave's Ditch.Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Hey everyone. Wanted to first off say thanks to those who stop and do little bit of work on trail here and there. But secondly ask a favor of any of you guys. I currently am on baby duty and dont get to ride or maintain like I want to. I rode yesterday and on my way through Rim job I noticed an unauthorized cut through. These things i used to combat ALL the time when i was present more. This cut through was very obvious ... a corridor pretty wide and they made a path lined with rocks. The frustrating and puzzling thing about this one was that an official across line already exists 30 ft or so further down the trail. Wtf! Anyways this particular one was just as you finish the line along the cliff of Rim heading west and you are coming up on the line that parallels the Rim line... we used to call it Dave's Glitch East. It takes you into the bottom of the ditch closest to the bcrt. I closed it off. If you guys are riding and see it open back up do me a solid and block it. I'll make a sign if it keeps being an issue. This blocking request really goes for any unofficial cut through. Most of you guys know what's official. We wont make any change to the trail without posting it up in social media first.
Thanks in advance.

Just build a wood skinny over ParmerThere's going to be a few re-routes on Peddlers Pass East of Parmer. This is been done to adjust for the new sidewalk and removing the crossover under Parmer.

Good point.... but alsoAlthough, until the workmen are done pouring and repouring, Peddler's is actually 3 separate loops. So do the loop in the corner of the lake park, then pop out to the cement towards Parmer. Head north right before the the Parmer overpass and you'll see the second loop on your right. When you come out of there go straight across under Parmer overpass and you'll find the 3rd loop.
You know, unless everything has changed again.
I thought we were trying to see this pour last til June. Just bunny hop any felled tree barrier because that shit ain't official dammit. Hahaha

The official and only current "approved" entry and exit are in the same spot. In the corner of the lake park just before the foot bridge that heads towards Parmer. What's the best place to get on Peddler's Pass? Asking for a friend with kids.....I've been looking at the CalTopo map. Just north of the baseball fields? Sorry, I live in Spicewood.
I'll update the map to show it

It's not too hard. Just commit. The key is a consistent speed. If you try and power up it your wheel will slipWe were there last Thursday and it was considerably wet. I mean it almost always seems to have a little trickle of water, but this was legit wet. I have no idea how you'd go up DD if it was wet. Its soooooo slickery.

That's wear learning to pass on inside corners is gonna be funIf you've ever been on peddlers pass - you would know how utterly crazy it would be. That trail is TIGHT and there is not 1 straight section.

What the others have said. But on Strava I believe the name that comes up most is DEATH STAR RUN or search BCB Dave's DitchSo here's a question, how do you get to Dave's Ditch? I've looked for it on Strava and it doesn't come up since maybe it goes by a different name. But if someone could tell me how to get there, that'd be grrreaaaat, thanks..Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

It's now Cedar Park property. It was private. Cedar Park is going to be building a trail at some point. Permission has been given to build along in here prior to the path being constructed. The access from Kati is on the opposite side of the cul-de-sac from private property. It's technically City of Cedar Park Property.
