  1. Just got back from doing Peddlers twice, Mulligan, Picnic, up some long gravelly/rocky hill towards a neighborhood looking for Snail(which I didn't find)

Sending you a PM. It will help you find things.
You rode up hall road. It's the farthest West Trailhead for Double Down . It used to also connect to a line we call 5.0. The county recently blocked it because they are who they are. But it is not near Snail. You gotta travel further west on bcrt until you come to 183A to find Snail.

  2. Oh, yeah, I ride it going down all the time without getting any air and it's still fun!  Still would be fun to just sit there on a busier day with a chair and watch people at the more...interesting locations.  [emoji846]
     ..Al
Maybe a live stream or remote access recorder is in order. Could be hours of entertainment from the comfort of my home. Who do we talk to in order to make this happen.

  3. I rode by it today. Looks fun! Landing looks a bit loose so I'm going to wait until I'm not riding solo.
Landing and approach are not done. But I hit it about 5 times to test alignment and pitch without issue. It just needs a light rake...ran out of time. It should be done done by tomorrow evening if I get free time tomorrow.

Adding air might be the way to go.

See if some volume spacers are available for your fork. If the sag is set right just adding more air will only make the suspension more stiff.

Hi folks, just found these forums!

Any recommendations on tires/forks for the brushy creek trails?

Also, where is this Snail trail? That looks fun!

    Welcome.

I would look into volume reducers before dropping money on a new fork. It will make your fork more progressive and potentially stop you from bottoming out. Also make sure your fork SAG is set appropriate for you too.

Tires. Up FRONT I prefer a wider tire with chunky knobs a plenty. In REAR I like a faster rolling tire slightly smaller in width than the front and with a shallow knob profile in center tread and some knobs on the outside for corner traction.

Snail Trail is just west of 183A. You can access it from the BCRT. You can even park close to it if you park under 183A at the regional trail access parking g lot. Once parked go across bridge and to the right. Keep your eyes left and you will see a trail not to long after you pass under the hwy. That trail is supposed to be one way and dangerous if you enter in the exit part SO... HERE IS ONE WAY TO GET UPTOP SAFE. There are many ways to get to the top but easiest to explain is go up the concrete drainage ditch that parallels 183a you will see a trail at the top. Once uptop there are a variety of lines down. Explore around and have fun.

  6. [mention=227]First-Blood[/mention] where on snail is this new drop in/ramp.  Is this below the new crazy drop in and the left fork?

This is just after the dual drops. It's a take off ramp. Not a drop in ramp. I took out that dilapidated unusable wood wall ride and made a higher dirt wall ride that leads to it. It is only a few feet to the right of the existing dirt sender after the dual drops

  7. Supposed to get rain starting this evening anyway so I don’t think it’s going to have an impact to mtn biking.

Well easy for you to say Mr I live across the street from trail access. [emoji869][emoji846] if rain is a flub all of us out of parkers have to sneak in

  8. Who’s building this stuff? They deserve a beer or two.
Myself. HB and a guy named Steven. It's pucker factor is legit but the payoff is well worth it. We have plans for maybe a step up just after it on the upslope but we will see.

  9. A tree trimming party may be coming soon for D. It's getting real bad in spots. And a few tech sections need a little maintenance. Erosion has made them dangerous and not super fun.

  10. Great minds think alike. I was planning on doing this tommorrow.

Some would argue that blowing leaves off the trail encourages erosion. Blowing out drains is on the ok list for them. Just food for thought. You do you

  11. The one you can see above my right glove? That sucker is getting hard to duck under. It’s near the two drops toward the middle of Picnic.3fc122caa04f180c845e8991ff2c44a2.jpg

I think we are talking same tree. It seems bigger than what that snapshot shows. Yea it definitely needs to come down. I was hoping it would fall naturally already

  12. I hit this tree and had a bad wreck.  Will have the scars forever.
I'm assuming you mean the tree on the other side of the "creek" if you do that bigger roll in drop next to the bridge.   I clipped the tree and it shot me into that rock face.
I'm thinking about a huge probably 20 inch tree that is starting to lean just after you hit one of the drop onPicnic. It will fall one day and get turned into a sweet feature. What tree are you referring to? Is it a recent lean or fall? Does it need to get removed for safety? Or is it maybe just a tree a bit in the way as is?.

  13. Saw a girl riding on bcrt with a face mask and no helmet today. You know, for when The only thing you wanna catch is a brain injury.

Also came up on a guy who took a header on the bigger drop on the west end of Picnic. Hope you’re ok if you post here.
Did he hit that big leaning tree?

  14. Anyone know what trail maintenance is planned for 3/24-3/27? Saw a city sign this weekend.
I heard that sign was by the Picnic X kiosk and foot bridge. If so my giess would be they are gonna try and address the issue with the dirt and rocks that constantly wash onto the bcrt there.

  15. What do y'all call the trails west of the Rim trail? Other side of 183, behind the YMCA camp? Just curious, as I've seen and heard names for the other trails on Brushy Creek but not these.
Snail Trail is just the trails that parallel 183a in and along the ditch. All the other existing trails in the area are typically referred to as YMCA trails

  16. I had a LITTLE lift for a pop. ... BUT .. that was because i felt i was too fast then i brake checked too much and as i came to the lip i was compensating in case i was too slow. But this is a standard drop procedure drop with a little more speed needed than drops that have a transition at very base of the drop.

    *Yell SEND IT!

*Look ahead where you want to go (not down)

*Stay centered over BB in attack P

    position

*Stay loose and relaxed ready to absorb the landing a bit.

This is just how i do it. Not the only way. Richard Drew has a very interesting approach to drops if you haven't seen his you tube tutorial.
