Just a baby bit of rain. Trails are good to go. I’d use caution at exposed rocky sections.

Thanks! What I figured 🙂 And I always use caution after the 4 titanium pins in my elbow when I went OTB on 1/4 notch 😛

What's missing from this picture? (hint: on west Picnic, facing east)

Yep, some jackass removed the first cedar bump-jump. This is getting ridiculous... Might be able to move it back, but I don't know if it will be as stable as it was before.

I saw that yesterday and just shook my head 😞

That's disheartening. I thought the lines and busy stores were diminishing. When I went to HEB a couple of days ago it was all semi normal.

Pretty sure that's a normal Costco line...why I cancelled my membership a couple months ago honestly.

I have seen people with camelbacks and no helmet and think WTF. But the ones that really pique my interest are the people with elbow and knee pads with no helmet. Can't figure out that risk model.

Tuck and roll and you'll protect your head.  It's like being able to put your seatbt on fast enough if it looks like you'll crash your car.

A LOT of distilleries, maybe most, are making hand sanitizer right now. For many "craft" distilleries, it'll be the highest quality product they've produced.

I have some "craft" whiskey that tastes like whiskey with just a hint of a spoiled milk aftertaste, yum.

Haha did the same today. Looks like I might be working from home for a good while; so lunch rides could become my norm now. I was doing fine with the social distancing too until another rider stopped me to ask directions.

It wasnt me, 6' was my normal distance already, now I just use flags signals to communicate.

This happens so much.  Many race tracks have been closed because people moved next door then complained of the noise.  My friend lives downtown right off 6th and he says neighbors are complaining about the noise from the clubs.

Solution, let's start a go fund me, buy the guy out, and turn the house into a mid-ride party shack.  I really don't see how this could go wrong.

  8. My son has outgrown his BMX style bike.  He's just a little too short (24.5" inseam) for a 26er, I tried on a small frame we have.

He'd like a mtb style bike, though trails will be more gravel, probably peddlers and lower picnic at the most.  A lot of gravel, paved, and sidewalks.

Could use some suggestions where to start, I'm thinking a 24" bike, would prefer disc brakes though, I've looked at the scott roxter online and that seems to stick all the boxes, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm ok getting a bike he'll outgrow in 18 months, he has a younger brother, and I want his bike to fit him now.

    Thanks!

Following the trail closure,  a plan of action is been formulated to strengthen the relationship between ARR and Williamson County Parks dept. The worst thing that can happen at the moment is for people to ignore the trail closure and keep riding it. No-one knows if that trail will be open again, but I can just about guarantee it won't if people keep using it. Think long term. If you see someone riding it explain their actions are making it more difficult to partner with Williamson County Parks dept.

Also, social media complaining is only going to make the situation worse. Local Land Managers do look at these forums, MTB facebook groups, and twitter to gather information about what's happening on the trails. I personally have had to apologize several times to a Land Manager for things mtber's (i've never met) have posted on line.

Do we need some signage or something similar from a MTB group that its closed to make sure people are on board?  Some people will "stick it to the man" but once they realize their own are also asking a section to not be ridden it may help.

Some people will still be jerks and do what they want, but may help keep the traffic lower.

Idk, I dont have any good suggestions other than signs.
