    That's interesting.  I never thought about how putting the leg forward is actually transferring weight forward.  Pretty cool.  

    Aren't the GP guys changing how they ride now?  I watched a MotoGP documentary a couple of years ago and it mentioned how the riding is changing, with them not riding under the bike on turns as much instead riding on the bike, and they pop their leg out some.  I think mainly the younger guys were doing this.  I watched so many motorsport documentaries that I don't remember which one talked about this.  Maybe the Casey Stoner or the Marc Marquez documentaries.

    It could have been Hitting the Apex but if I'm wrong and you have not seen it the documentary is definitely worth a watch.

Got quite a bit of track time on MX, Supermoto and sport bikes and agree that sportbike cornering technique does not translate to MTB.  The weight the front and slide the rear of MX/supermoto (Pic) are better proxies minus the inside foot out part unless you're washing out.  High side crashes suck but I've got some nice hardware to show for it.

I have been into The Hub bike shop a few times and their hours are normal. I've been up here twice this month and would say it seems mostly normal.

    I saw Jenson has the Oozy 350 wheelset for under 400 and the engagement looks good on their hub. Just curious if anyone has abused them locally and how they've held up? I was considering having a wheelset built but for under 400 that Oozy wheelset looks guud especially if I can get 2 years of casing jumps and plowing rock gardens out of them. 

    Sorry no experience with the Oozy but I second Chief my XM481 have been bulletproof.  Sorry for the tangent but are things in Bentonville pretty open?  I've been thinking about making another trip up there but if the restaurants and shops are still shut down I'll probably wait a while longer.

Got a KS Lev and liked it better, but had a lot of side to side play and failed as well, got it serviced and sold that bike. Ran a Crankbrothers High Line and loved it, ran it for over a year with no issues at all.  New bike came with a newer gen Reverb stealth.     How long has anyone ran a Oneup? Any issues?

    So far I've only run the Oneup for about 3 months with no issues.  The only issues I've had with my KS Lev posts (31.6 & 27.2) over the past 4yrs have been with the 27.2 on my SS and those are known to have cartridge issues.  If the Oneup is as reliable as my larger KS Lev at ~1/2 the cost I'll be very happy.

    LOL Just got back from a ride.  Weather was perfect this morning but some of the turns were pretty crumbly.

    With the rain coming I thought it would be a good idea to get in a ride today but like an idiot  waited until noon.  On the plus side the trails were almost empty I hit Candyland, Peddlers, 1/4, DD, Snail, Picnic and only saw one other solo rider on DD and a couple parents w/ their children on Peddlers and Picnic.

  8. Changes to make it more fun are always the way to go.  Personally  I could care less about the KOM. Don't get me wrong I like looking at the Strava segments but unless I'm racing or doing a Trainerroad stationary workout I almost never push 100% for any real length of time.  Trail time is about having fun and developing skills on tech stuff.

    I REALLY need to re-route that eroded fall line left turn a couple turns after Cyrus. Next rainy day off I think I’m gonna do it. I don’t want it to be something I keep saying I’ll do but never get around to. Firstblood, you got any McLeods er whut?

    Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way I'm about 10 mi in by the time I've started riding 1/4 if I've hit Candyland, Gnar and Peddlers so a little fatigued and not fully  on my game by the time DD comes up.

  10. What the hell I'll throw in my .02c  I weigh ~165 and run 2.35 Ardent race on 30mm wide rims tubeless with 19psi front and 23psi rear.  Works great on my FS but I have pinch flatted with that set up on the SS hardtail bombing a rock garden so I'm not about to run lower in the rear.

  11. Crankbrothers Klic HV +Co2 is a good one for carrying in a pack as it's got a gauge is high volume and has the Co2 adapter.  It also has a hose which makes using it a bit easier.

    Lately I've transitioned over to using a OneUp EDC pump attached to the bike.  It lacks the gauge and hose but has the Co2 adapter and  holds the EDC tool and a Co2 cartridge.  I like it because it means less in my pack but unfortunately it's not cheap at ~100 for the pump and EDC tool.

  12. Not knowing what your upgrade budget is it's tough to pick one.  Is GG giving you the okay to upgrade by selecting one of the items off of the higher builds or would you be buying the upgrade yourself and replacing?

    If it's the former then my personal order would be suspension, wheels, drive then brakes.  If it's the latter then olddbrider is right while you can find some deals suspension and wheels are going to be expensive.  I would purchase, ride then upgrade later.  Both of those builds are good.  High end suspension and wheels can make a big difference but they are costly and the rider is still the most important part of the equation.

    Yes they also do have a secret menu where there are more options like a Pistola (Trail Pistol with 130mm travel rather than 120mm), or a mullet bike with different sized wheels front and rear.  I was strongly considering going with a Pistola but ended up going with a Yeti SB130 instead.

    True I did run a set of 40C Smart Sams on my El Mariachi for the LBJ 100 and holey roller a couple years back and it did work well but looked goofy as hell.
