  1. I would be stoker with Jay on any trail. He and I rode all of Walnut on his tandem, including Endo Valley.  On the BMX Loop, we flew into the big bowl and caught air at the top!  The first time he rode down the IMBA trail was with me on the back of the bike. I'm pretty sure he didn't brake until we hit the uturn. And we rode way high on the wall before the creek. That was the best ride I've had a Walnut. 😀

  2. The annual R&I spring party is next Tuesday, 04/09 at the usual place! The Goddess of the Shiny Silver Canisters will be bringing two shiny silver canisters full of cold golden nectar.  Keg #1 - Pacific Northwest style Pale Ale and  Keg #2 - East Coast IPA with Mosiac and El Dorado hops.  There will also be hamburgers!  Bring chips, dip, snacks to share and someone bring a couple of bags of ice.

  3. Awe the poor R&I. It misses seeing us ride around Walnut. And smelling the deliciousness of grilled sausage. Too many new bikes? Climate change? El Nino? Somebody seriously pissed of the Sunshine Goddess?

Sooo, the Goddess of the Shiny Silver Canister full of Cold Golden Nectar is postponing the Annual R&I Celebration of later daylight hours until April 9th. We'll celebrate her birthday with a ride and a big time R&I throw down! And of course, a shiny silver canister full of cold golden nectar.

Speaking of GOAT TRAIL, does anyone remember riding the super-sketch goat trails at the rifle range on Hamilton Pool.  Probably late 80's - early 90's.  That was NOT purpose built MTB trail.  The old man that lived in the bunker there would take our $5, wait for us to ride behind the berm, then open up with a 1911.  I remember one trail that hugged a downhill fenceline and then 90* turned at the bottom.  You'd either catch the fence on the side or on the bottom.  Those were fun trails, but I always had the feeling that if we died out there, no one would know about it for months.

I remember riding out there. Kathy and I used to ride out there. Once I found out how crazy that guy was, we quit going. Didn't think he'd take to kindly to a couple of 'those kind of girls' riding on his property.

  5. Based on the forecasted rain this past weekend, several of us planned an urban ride for tonight. Starting at Billy's on Burnet at 5:30. Riding down to Zilker Christmas Tree, then up Congress and around the Capitol and onto 37th Street. Then back to Billy's on Burnet for the 'I'.  Everyone is welcome to join this ride.
